Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (683) - POK FU LAM RESERVOIR HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 MISTER DAPPER (H376) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that she had to make too much use of her mount in the early stages to go forward and race outside the leader M M CONCORD which resulted in MISTER DAPPER being left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
She added that her saddle slipped back on entering the Home Straight, placing her at some disadvantage.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 BLAZING WUKONG (K335) A Atzeni Bumped heavily on jumping.
Horse No 3 ENDUED (K033) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running between the 350 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 4 AMAZING PARTNERS (K554) C Y Ho Approaching the 400 Metres was shifted to the outside of WITHALLMYFAITH to improve and made contact with LEGEND WINNER.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 SMART AVENUE (K474) Z Purton Between the 400 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
When questioned regarding the improved performance Trainer C H Yip stated that the horse was disadvantaged at its last start over 2000 Metres when the early and middle stages were being run outside of standard time.
He said this resulted in SMART AVENUE not being able to make up ground in the Home Straight.
He added today SMART AVENUE was advantaged by the race being run at a more genuine pace and also may have appreciated the addition of visors to the horse's gear.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 FAMILY JEWEL (J390) J Moreira Jumped only fairly.
Near the 150 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when it improved close to LEGEND WINNER.
Horse No 7 GOLDEN CHAMP (L135) A Badel Near the 200 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by RISING PHOENIX.
Horse No 10 M M CONCORD (L076) M Chadwick Near the 350 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded by MISTER DAPPER (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted in when she was endeavouring to change her whip through to her right hand.
Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care.
M Chadwick reported that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead by MISTER DAPPER and as a result could not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 LEGEND WINNER (L032) Y L Chung Bumped approaching the 400 Metres.
Horse No 13 RISING PHOENIX (J498) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and made heavy contact with BLAZING WUKONG.
Approaching the 200 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER when MISTER DAPPER was giving ground.
When being shifted to the outside of MISTER DAPPER near the 200 Metres made contact with GOLDEN CHAMP.
Horse No 14 WITHALLMYFAITH (K428) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.
Horse No HAPPY TERCENTENARY (L185) L Hewitson Withdrawn on 8.5.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left hind) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter M M CONCORD.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY TERCENTENARY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Favourite Smart Avenue was held up fourth last from gate one and despite being held up for a run between 350m and 200m out, he claimed the lead 80m out and was too good for his rivals for a second win from 10 starts. Amazing Partners found one too good after surging to the lead 150m out following a rails run from behind midfield. It was a good run in defeat carrying 6lb more following a win. Endued ran on nicely for third after making his run at the rear from gate nine. It was another honest performance over 1,600m. Blazing Wukong stayed on nicely for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was a good effort carrying 6lb more following a last-start win. Withallymyfaith plugged on well for fifth after a prominent run three wide the entire trip from gate 14. He could bob up for a win at any moment.
