Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (672) - CAMELLIA HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 TALENTS AMBITION (J136) Z Purton Approaching the 400 Metres and again shortly afterwards was bumped by NOISY BOY which shifted out.
Horse No 2 STEPS AHEAD (J263) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that the intention was to be more forward but after his mount began only fairly he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended.
Horse No 3 SWORD POINT (G448) K C Leung K C Leung could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 WINNING DRAGON (E461) Y L Chung Near the 500 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was crowded between SWORD POINT and SKY VINO which shifted out slightly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
The performance of WINNING DRAGON, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, WINNING DRAGON will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 LOCH TAY (K356) R Kingscote R Kingscote pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1000 Metres (see ENDEARED).
Horse No 7 SKY VINO (K054) J Moreira Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 GLITTERING LEGEND (L109) C L Chau Crowded near the 1000 Metres.
Bumped when crowded near the 1500 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ENDEARED (H161) A Atzeni Bumped when crowded near the 1500 Metres.
R Kingscote (LOCH TAY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in, resulting in DRAGON AIR FORCE being taken in onto GLITTERING LEGEND which was taken in across the running of ENDEARED which was steadied when crowded to the inside of GLITTERING LEGEND.
R Kingscote was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 27 May 2026 at Happy Valley.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 1 and also considered his good race riding record.
Horse No 10 NOISY BOY (J536) H Bentley Jumped only fairly and then from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 400 Metres shifted out and made contact with TALENTS AMBITION.
Horse No 11 NEZHA (K494) M F Poon Near the 300 Metres became awkwardly placed on the heels of TURIN MASCOT when endeavouring to improve to the inside of that runner.
Horse No 13 TURIN MASCOT (H165) M L Yeung Near the 1500 Metres DRAGON AIR FORCE (Apprentice H Y Yuen) shifted in when not clear of GLITTERING LEGEND, resulting in GLITTERING LEGEND making contact with ENDEARED which was taken in and crowding TURIN MASCOT.
Apprentice Yuen was severely reprimanded.
Horse No 12 FORTUNATE SON (J446) K Teetan Fractious in the Parade Ring, reared and fell over.
Was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said it was not suitable to race.
Acting on this advice FORTUNATE SON was withdrawn by order of the Stewards.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNATE SON will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Favourite Sky Vino travelled one off better than midfield before surging to the lead 150m and keeping on gamely to just defeat Glittering Legend for a fourth win from 21 starts. He appreciated a return to the surface of a win in February after a near win last start at the Valley. Punted late Glittering Legend just out-bobbed Endeared for second after a box-seat run from gate three. He appreciated the switch in surface after managing one fourth from his first four local runs. Endeared made it close on the wire for second after a rails run from midfield. He's performing nicely across both surfaces since the start of 2026. Loch Tay grudgingly gave way after clearing to lead 1,150m out from gate 12. It was another good run carrying 6lb more following a win. Nezha made good ground late near the inside for fifth after straightening last from gate four. It was a better effort at his third run back in Class Three. Turin Mascot ran on without threatening from beyond midfield on the fence. Noisy Boy was doing his best work late near the outside after making his run among the backmarkers from gate 13. He might be suited over 1,800m.
