Early favourite Yoda's Choice led from gate three and kept up a strong gallop for a third win and first this season from 34 career starts. The move to a 10lb claimer worked the oracle after nearly making all last start. Punted late Firefoot stayed on second best after a handy run one off the fence. It was another honest performance. Ariel kept plugging away to grab third late after a box-seat run. It was a return to form off a new career low in the ratings. Glorious St Paul's lost a placing late after a speed-tracking run from gate 11. It was a much-improved effort with a step up to 1,800m at his fifth career start. Whacked to jump favourite, Enthralled ran on late for fifth without ever looking a threat after making his run third last from gate nine. It was an OK effort at his first start on this surface. Perfect Team just plodded over the last 100m after improving from behind midfield 600m out to sit better than midfield coming to the final bend. He continues to disappoint this campaign. Viva Taste made some ground late after making his run second last after a slow start.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (668) - LOTUS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters

Horse No 1 HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) K C Leung Shortly after the start made contact with GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S and a short distance later then shifted in and bumped ENTHRALLED.

Near the 600 Metres was bumped and became slightly unbalanced when FIREFOOT endeavoured to shift to the outside of GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S to improve.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

K C Leung stated that his mount did not appreciate tonight's All Weather surface which, whilst rated as "Good" was showing some effects of the recent wet weather.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of HAPPY UNIVERSE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY UNIVERSE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 ENTHRALLED (K252) Z Purton Shortly after the start was bumped and became unbalanced.

On several occasions near the 1000 Metres made contact with VIVA TASTE.

Horse No 3 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 5 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) C L Chau Bumped on jumping.

C L Chau stated that his mount did not appreciate tonight's All Weather surface which, whilst rated as "Good" was showing some effects of the recent wet weather.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 THE LION KING (K265) J Orman J Orman reported that his mount hung out making the turns near the 1200 Metres and again at the 700 Metres.

He said after this THE LION KING then commenced to give ground and failed to run on in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

The performance of THE LION KING, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, THE LION KING will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S (K524) M F Poon Shortly after the start was bumped.

M F Poon stated that he was given the option of having his mount ridden in a forward position depending on how it began.

He said when GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S jumped well he elected to allow his mount to stride forward and obtain a position outside the leader YODA'S CHOICE.

Horse No 9 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) H Y Yuen Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped GLORIOUS SUCCESS.

Horse No 10 FIREFOOT (J183) K Teetan Near the 600 Metres, when endeavouring to shift to the outside of GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S, made contact with HAPPY UNIVERSE.

Horse No 11 VIVA TASTE (K415) H T Mo On several occasions near the 1000 Metres was bumped by ENTHRALLED.
