Robot Knight tracked the speed on the fence before surging to the lead along the inside 280m out just scrambling in for a second win over this surface and trip from 27 starts. He appreciated the return to the dirt after a placing last start on turf. Favourite Viva Chaleur was eating up the ground late to miss by a neck after a handy run wide with cover from gate six. He continues to hold his form well with seconds in back-to-back runs after a win. Happy Action ran on nicely late near the inside for third after a rails run from midfield. He appreciated a downgrade and return to the surface and trip of a second from two past starts. Macanese Master gradually faded after sitting three wide without cover near the front from gate five. He had an excuse. Von Baer made good ground late for fifth after making his run three from the rear. It was an improved performance for his new trainer at his initial run over the dirt 1,200m. Sensationally backed Spicy Spangle was on his tippy toes 100m out after leading one off from gate four. Top To Sky held his ground after a four wide trip without cover travelling midfield from gate 12.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two : (666) - MAGNOLIA HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 NOBLE DELUXE (K052) A Badel A Badel stated that from his wide barrier he was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended.

He said this, coupled with carrying top weight of 135 lbs, were the principal reasons for NOBLE DELUXE not being able to finish its race off in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 3 NO OTHER CHOICE (K049) J Moreira Near the 700 Metres shifted in and made contact with SHINYU KOKOROE.

J Moreira reported that his mount never travelled at any stage of the event and was under continued pressure to maintain its position.

He added despite continuing to urge NO OTHER CHOICE along his mount then failed to run on in the Home Straight.

Trainer C Fownes could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance, however, advised that he would now consider stepping NO OTHER CHOICE up in distance for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 BINGO BABE (K115) M F Poon Making the turn near the 700 Metres NO OTHER CHOICE (J Moreira) shifted in, making contact with SHINYU KOKOROE which was then taken in, resulting in BINGO BABE being crowded and checked when it was also reluctant to hold its position at that stage.

J Moreira was severely reprimanded.

M F Poon stated that his mount never travelled at any stage at the rear of the field and after receiving interference near the 700 Metres failed to run on in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
