Race Seven : (660) - BEAS RIVER COUNTRY CLUB 1800M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 2 MR COOL (K184) K Teetan Near the 350 Metres was steadied when disappointed for a run to the inside of KINGLY DEMEANOR.
MR COOL was then shifted to the outside of KINGLY DEMEANOR and FORTUNE KINGO where it obtained clear running after the 300 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 STORM RUNNER (J452) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that after shifting in on jumping and making contact with KOLACHI she was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to go forward.
She said STORM RUNNER raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) E Brown E Brown stated that from his favourable barrier he was asked to hold a midfield position.
He said when his mount commenced well it settled slightly more forward than anticipated.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 GRAND TURBO (L138) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 VOLCANIC SPARK (H388) M F Poon After the 250 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between MR COOL and VERMILION TEMPEST.
VOLCANIC SPARK was then shifted to the outside of VERMILION TEMPEST where it obtained clear running near the 200 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 JOYFUL PROSPERITY (H213) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly and then shortly after the start was steadied to avoid YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which shifted in.
Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres was unable to be ridden out when positioned behind KOLACHI.

Horse No 11 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) A Badel A Badel could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of YIU CHEUNG VICTORY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, YIU CHEUNG VICTORY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 13 KOLACHI (J395) H Bentley On jumping was crowded between KYRUS TREASURE and STORM RUNNER which shifted in.
In the early stages raced keenly.
For some distance near the 1200 Metres was steadied away from AMAZING GAZE.

Volcanic Spark travelled midfield on the rails and had to come off heels for a clear run 150m out but got up late for a third career win and first from eight starts this term. Vermilion Tempest found one just too good after poking his head in front 100m out following a handy run one off with cover from gate four. It was clearly his best effort. Whacked to jump favourite, Mr Cool was third after briefly leading 50m out despite getting badly baulked and having to alter course near the 300m following a prominent run on the fence. It was another honest performance with a step up to 1,800m. Extreme outsider Grand Turbo came on strongly near the inside for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 14. He was suited by both the wet track and step up to 1,800m after three lifeless efforts to start his Hong Kong career.
