Flying Knight travelled in the box seat and reeled in a game Circuit Fiery 60m out for a first win at his 11th local start. The win was not a surprise after showing progress in two of his past three starts. Favourite Circuit Fiery wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to lead from gate five. He has been racing well all season long. Well-backed late Gallant Design stayed on third best after a prominent run one off the fence. It was another honest effort. President Pegasus stayed on well for fourth after a rails run from midfield. It was a much better effort at his second start. Come Fast Fay Fay wove a run near the inside for fifth after getting held up early in the straight following a patient ride towards the rear. He's performed reasonably well in his past three starts in this grade after a Class Five win. Healthy Pony ran on steadily to finish next best without threatening the top five runners after a rail run from behind midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Five : (658) - SHA TIN CLUBHOUSE 1400M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 CIRCUIT FIERY (H475) H Y Yuen Prior to declaring weighed-in Apprentice H Y Yuen viewed the Stewards' patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against FLYING KNIGHT being declared the winner due to both runners making contact near the 50 Metres.

When Apprentice Yuen declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds as the contact was due to both runners shifting ground and due to the manner both runners finishing the race off, they declared weighed-in on the numbers semaphored by the Judge.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 GALLANT DESIGN (L161) B Avdulla Bumped shortly after the start.

B Avdulla stated that he was given no specific instructions but was provided with the option of going forward if his mount commenced well.

He said when GALLANT DESIGN commenced reasonably well he allowed it to stride forward and hold a more forward position than its previous race starts.

Horse No 3 MASTER PHOENIX (J516) L Ferraris Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 5 HAPPY BRETHREN (L049) C Y Ho On jumping shifted in and made contact with ALABAMA SONG.

As a result HAPPY BRETHREN then shifted out and made contact with MULTISUPERSTAR.

C Y Ho stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event and also did not appreciate the "Yielding" track conditions.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 6 JUBILANT STAR (K410) Z Purton On jumping was crowded between GALLANT DESIGN and COME FAST FAY FAY which shifted out.

Near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid GALLANT DESIGN (B Avdulla) which shifted in when not quite clear.

B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.

Z Purton could offer no explanation for the horse's disappointing performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 8 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) K Teetan Near the 50 Metres made contact with CIRCUIT FIERY due to both runners shifting ground.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 ALABAMA SONG (K480) A Badel Had its left front plate refitted in the saddling stalls, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.

Bumped on jumping.

A Badel stated that his mount did not appreciate the "Yielding" track conditions and did not run out a strong 1400 Metres on the rain affected going.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 12 MULTISUPERSTAR (L163) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.

Lay in in the Home Straight.

Horse No 13 COME FAST FAY FAY (K121) M Chadwick Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.

Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.

Near the 350 Metres raced tight to the inside of HEALTHY PONY when improving to the inside of HEALTHY PONY.

Horse No 14 MADE FOR LIFE (L005) R Kingscote Jumped only fairly.
