Race Two : (655) - OWNERSHIP PRIDE 1200M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 MASTER LUCKY (K582) A Atzeni A Atzeni pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 800 Metres (see ONESHOT).
Horse No 2 SUPER LOVE (K118) L Ferraris L Ferraris was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 300 Metres (see ONESHOT).
Horse No 3 CASA BUDDY (L101) R Kingscote Bumped heavily at the start.
Crowded near the 800 Metres.
Horse No 4 CHIU CHOW GOLF (L216) H Bentley Jumped only fairly, shifted out and lost ground when it made contact with ONESHOT.
Near the 1000 Metres became unbalanced when it shifted in and away from ONESHOT.
Crowded near the 800 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 HAPPY SMILE (L202) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
Between the 350 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Again near the 100 Metres experienced difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 7 ONESHOT (L105) K Teetan Bumped heavily at the start.
A Atzeni (MASTER LUCKY) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 800 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of CASA BUDDY, resulting in CASA BUDDY being crowded in onto ONESHOT which was checked to avoid CASA BUDDY and as a result blundered and then shifted in and crowded the running of CHIU CHOW GOLF.
A Atzeni was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 20 May 2026 at Happy Valley.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
L Ferraris (SUPER LOVE) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 300 Metres he improved to the inside of CHIU CHOW GOLF when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in ONESHOT being crowded for room and being checked to avoid SUPER LOVE.
L Ferraris was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Saturday, 9 May 2026 at Sha Tin.
In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 VIRTUS GLORY (L298) M F Poon M F Poon stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and lost ground at the start.
He said in accordance with his instructions he then rode the horse forward but was obliged to race wide and without cover when unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 MALPENSA (K545) J Orman J Orman stated that the intention was to settle midfield.
He said when his mount jumped well he elected to go forward to avoid covering additional ground.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 TOP THRONE (K116) Z Purton Leaving the 1600 Metres was steadied to avoid LEADING DRAGON when racing keenly.
Leaving the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid MALPENSA when being shifted to that runner's outside to improve.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 POWER PATCH (L100) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 13 SAME TO YOU (H057) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.

Malpensa tracked the speed outside Leading Dragon before moving to a narrow lead 250m out and bravely staving off favourite Top Throne for a maiden win at his sixth start. Top Throne had his chance but couldn't reel in the winner after a box-seat run. He's building towards a win. Leading Dragon gave a cheeky sight on the speed for third under a 10lb claimer. He's a winner waiting to happen in back-to-back starts. Super Love ran on nicely late after switching inside for a run 300m out following a patient ride second last from gate seven. He has honest Sha Tin 1,200m form. Master Lucky kept grinding away for fifth after a prominent run one off the fence. The big weight anchored him. Happy Smile made ground late near the inside after biding his time last from gate 10.
