Race Three : (616) - PROMOTING HEALTH FOR ALL 1000M HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 RUN RUN SUNRISE (K552) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 TOURBILLON GOLFER (K320) H Y Yuen Shortly after the start was crowded between ZOUPER FELLOW and ONESHOT which shifted in after being bumped by E HOPEFUL.
For some distance near the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving between SYNERGY EXPRESS and HEROIC MASTER which lay out.
Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her mount was unable to hold a more forward position due to the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time.
She said the horse would be better suited by being stepped back up in distance.
Horse No 3 ALSONSO (J405) L Ferraris Noted to have blood at the right nostril after the race.
An endoscopic examination conducted on ALSONSO found that there was no blood in its trachea and therefore the blood in the nostril was determined to be not coming from the lungs and as such the horse was deemed not to have bled.
Horse No 4 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) P N Wong Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was eased to avoid ALSONSO which shifted in.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 E HOPEFUL (L181) J Orman Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 7 MASTER PAYMENT (L159) B Avdulla When questioned B Avdulla stated that after improving to the inside of ZOUPER FELLOW near the 350 Metres his intention was to continue to shift to the inside of ALSONSO to improve.
He said when RUN RUN SUNRISE held its position to his inside he was then held up for clear running between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres where he improved into a narrow run to the outside of ALSONSO.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 ONESHOT (L105) K Teetan Bumped at the start.
Horse No 9 SYNERGY EXPRESS (L252) H Bowman Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between HEROIC MASTER which shifted out and MAPOGO which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when positioned close to ONESHOT.
Horse No 10 PERFECT TRIUMPH (L275) J Moreira J Moreira stated that his mount came under pressure from the 500 Metres and was unable to finish the race off thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 ZOUPER FELLOW (K284) A Atzeni Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 150 Metres MASTER PAYMENT (B Avdulla), which had been held up for clear running, was shifted to the outside of ALSONSO to improve when there was not sufficient room to do so, resulting in ZOUPER FELLOW, which was under pressure, having to be steadied.
B Avdulla was advised to exercise more care.
A Atzeni stated that his mount did not appreciate being pressured in the lead in the early stages by ALSONSO and as a consequence did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
Trainer D J Hall advised that ZOUPER FELLOW had pleased him prior to the race and concurred with the views by Jockey Atzeni.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 EMERGING STAR (K390) R Kingscote Slow to begin.
Horse No 13 HEROIC MASTER (G394) M L Yeung Over the final 200 Metres lay out under pressure and proved difficult to ride out to the finish.

Parents' Love started slowly but recovered to run on from midfield and hit the lead 250m out in the centre of the track en route to a fifth career win from 30 starts and second from 10 starts over the straight 1,000m. He was rated three points below a win in October after disappointing eight times. Master Payment ran on nicely for second after getting momentarily held up following a handy run on the stands side from gate 14. It was a solid effort on debut. Favourite Run Run Sunrise stayed on nicely for third travelling midfield from gate 12. It was another honest performance. Alsonso stuck around for fourth after dictating the pace from gate five. He rarely produces a bad run over the straight 1,000m. Debutant Oneshot was doing some nice work late for fifth after making his run behind midfield. It was an encouraging effort.
