Race Eight : (612) - SCRUM HALF 1650M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO LEGEND (G266) J Moreira Shortly after the start was hampered when taken out by THE BOOM BOX.
From the outside barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 2 KEEFY (G306) M F Poon Bumped near the 350 Metres and taken wider.
Horse No 3 THE BOOM BOX (K076) J Orman On jumping was crowded by RIDING TOGETHER which shifted out.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 RIDING TOGETHER (K081) Z Purton Shifted out at the start and made contact with THE BOOM BOX.
Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly during the event and as a result could not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 FIVEFORTWO (K381) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Shifted in near the 1400 Metres and made contact with ALL ROUND WINNER.
Horse No 6 I CAN (H381) C L Chau Held up on the Home Turn.
Horse No 7 TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) P N Wong A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) A Atzeni Held up making the Home Turn and in the early stages of the Home Straight and did not obtain clear running until near the 250 Metres.

Horse No 9 ROMANTIC GLADIATOR (L240) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 10 RAGGA BOMB (K162) R Kingscote In the early stages raced keenly and near the 1000 Metres was steadied away from RIDING TOGETHER.
Horse No 11 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) H Bentley Near the 1400 Metres got its head up and became unbalanced when it was bumped by FIVEFORTWO which shifted in.
Held up on the Home Turn.
Near the 350 Metres was shifted to the outside of RAGGA BOMB to improve and made contact with KEEFY.

Punted late All Round Winner was ridden patiently fourth last and reeled in Romantic Gladiator 20m out for a second win and first over the Valley 1,650m from 11 starts this term. He appreciated the light weight up in grade after a third last time out. Romantic Gladiator did everything right but get the win after taking off 500m out to lead at the 200m following a handy run one off the fence. He's trending towards a win. Favourite Armor Golden Eagle ran on well for third after getting badly held up for a run until the 150m following a box-seat run. He should have finished closer. Keefy ran on nicely for fourth without threatening the first three after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Fivefortwo got going late near the outside for fifth after making his run third last from gate eight. He may have needed the run after a setback with a fever 22 days ago. Ragga Bomb faded after easing out of a battle for the front to travel one-out, one-back. He's better suited in Class Four. Jumbo Legend only beat a few runners ridden last from the widest draw. He's not the same horse this season.
