Happy Boss tracked the speed from gate 13 before assuming the lead near the 300m and finding plenty for a second win and last-start second from five starts. Top Time ran on nicely for second after a rails run from midfield. He can bob up at any moment after placing in half his eight starts this term. Punted late Gallant Design was doing his best work late for third after making his run fifth last and three wide from gate nine. He keeps promising without winning. Eighty Light Years was left without a finishing effort after pressing forward three wide to lead from better than midfield near the 800m from gate 10. He's a winner waiting to happen at this level. Favourite Invictus Dragon ran on late for fifth without threatening the top four after making his run third last from gate eight. He could not build on placings in two prior starts.

Race Four : (597) - COX'S HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS (H170) L Hewitson Bumped on jumping.

Horse No 2 HAPPY BOSS (K453) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that with an expected lack of pace in the event the connections had requested him to go forward.

He said when HAPPY BOSS jumped well and the pace of the event was run outside of standard time in the early stages he was able to comply with those instructions.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 TOP TIME (K006) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 GALLANT DESIGN (L161) B Avdulla Shifted out at the start and made contact with EIGHTY LIGHT YEARS.

Horse No 6 MASSIVE GLORY (K205) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 7 INVICTUS DRAGON (K318) Z Purton Bumped near the 900 Metres.

Z Purton stated that his mount jumped only fairly and after settling back in the field found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight due to the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 CHEERFUL WONGCHOY (L045) K Teetan Raced keenly in the early stages and near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid AMAZING FUN.

Near the 900 Metres shifted out and made contact with INVICTUS DRAGON when racing ungenerously.

For a short distance near the 350 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Trainer P C Ng advised that he had instructed K Teetan to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as the horse had been finishing its races off only fairly when ridden in a forward position.

Horse No 9 TYCOON EXPRESS (K376) J Moreira From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Near the 900 Metres was tightened to the inside of CHEERFUL WONGCHOY.

Approaching the 800 Metres TYCOON EXPRESS was then steadied when crowded by CHEERFUL WONGCHOY which shifted in when it continued to race ungenerously.

Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when racing in restricted room between GOLDEN WIN and LIGHTNESS OF BEING which was giving ground.

J Moreira stated that his mount was reluctant to race inside other horses and after settling back in the field found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight, particularly with the early stages of the event being run outside of standard time.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 GOLDEN WIN (L026) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 12 SUPREME FEELING (L130) H Bentley From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 13 AMAZING FUN (H442) M Chadwick Throughout the early stages raced ungenerously and near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid THE CONCENTRATION which shifted out.

Horse No 14 THE CONCENTRATION (H465) A Atzeni Near the 1100 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid HAPPY BOSS (L Ferraris) which shifted in when not clear.

L Ferraris was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground.
