Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (596) - GILLIES HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 BEAUTY MISSILE (H123) H Bowman Shifted in near the 300 Metres and was bumped.
H Bowman reported that his mount did not respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 DASHING MAURISON (K374) P N Wong Jumped only fairly.
Apprentice P N Wong stated that after settling back in the field her mount hung in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 IRON LEGION (J459) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
Brushed near the 300 Metres.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Y L Chung stated that he was obliged to race wide and without cover in the early stages.
He said when GENERAL SMART shifted out after the 800 Metres his mount was bumped by GENERAL SMART and taken wider and did not finish the race off thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 RATTAN GALAXY (K143) C Y Ho Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GENERAL SMART when racing keenly.
RATTAN GALAXY continued to race keenly in the middle stages.
Near the 300 Metres was bumped by BEAUTY MISSILE which shifted in.
As a result RATTAN GALAXY then shifted in and brushed IRON LEGION.
Horse No 5 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) B Avdulla After the 1000 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid GENERAL SMART for some distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 GENERAL SMART (K138) Z Purton On jumping was crowded between SPEEDY TRIDENT and THE WAY WE WIN.
In the middle stages raced keenly and after the 800 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPEEDY TRIDENT.
Z Purton stated that his intention was to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said when GENERAL SMART jumped well and the pace of the event was only moderate he was able to hold an on-pace position without having to pressure his mount to do so.
He added that GENERAL SMART was disadvantaged by IRON LEGION being positioned to his outside and as a result gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 COOL BLUE (H011) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was shifted out to continue into clear running.
Horse No 8 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) M L Yeung On jumping made contact with GENERAL SMART and then shortly after blundered.
M L Yeung reported that the instructions were to go forward.
Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as the horse had not been finishing its races off in recent starts.
Horse No 9 WINDICATOR FAMILY (H419) K C Leung Shifted in at the start, made contact with IRON LEGION and became unbalanced.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 GOLD TACK (H106) C L Chau Between the 400 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 12 CASA LEGEND (G126) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 14 THE WAY WE WIN (J493) H T Mo Shifted in at the start and was bumped.

Bling Bling Genius travelled one off better than midfield and took control near the inside 230m out for a first win at his 15th start. He appreciated the step up to 1,600m after knocking on the door for seconds in two of his past five starts at this level. Windicator Family ran on nicely for second after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. He was able to build on a rallying fourth two runs ago over this trip. Harry's Hero finished nicely through the centre for third after making his run two from the rear. It was another honest performance. Cool Blue came from last at one point for fourth. It was another good effort carrying more weight with a step back in distance following a success over 1,800m. The Way We Win grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate 14. It was a better performance with a step up to 1,600m in his six consecutive runs.
