Fast Responder led from gate eight and kept finding to just beat early favourite Glowing Praises under a 10lb claimer for a second win from 22 starts. Glowing Praises just couldn't reel in the leader after sitting third in the run from gate 11. It was another honest performance carrying top weight. Lucky Candy stayed on nicely for third after a handy run from gate 12. He lived up to a much-improved sixth last start at his initial run over the straight 1,000m. Alpha Strike just held on for fourth after sitting fourth in the run near the far side from gate four. He's only kept on fourth best without excuses in back-to-back runs. Wonderstar made ground late for fifth after shifting to the far side 200m out for a clear run travelling fourth last following a tardy start. He'll be a force to reckon with if he can find his way into Class Four.

Horse No 5 ALPHA STRIKE (L019) C Y Ho Hung in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.

Horse No 8 LOOKING BRIGHT (K315) M F Poon When commencing to give ground near the 200 Metres was eased to avoid FAST RESPONDER (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted out when not quite clear.

Apprentice Yuen was advised to exercise more care.

M F Poon reported that his mount was under pressure from the 400 Metres and did not respond to his riding thereafter.

Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 TACTICAL HORIZONS (L173) K Teetan On jumping made contact with the left side of its starting gate and became unbalanced.

Horse No 11 WONDERSTAR (J531) P N Wong Near the 300 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of BLUE ILLUSION to continue into clear running.

Apprentice P N Wong stated that as the start was effected her mount sat back in the starting gate and as a consequence jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

She said this resulted in WONDERSTAR settling further back in the field than intended.

Horse No 12 LUCKY CANDY (L041) A Badel Near the 250 Metres was shifted to the inside of WHIZZ KID to continue into clear running.
