Racing Incident Report
Race One : (574) - LUGARD HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING (L126) Z Purton On jumping PARROT BLESSING shifted in and away from ZOUPER FELLOW and made contact with ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING.
Shortly after the start bumped with MEGA CAPTAIN.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 SUPER SIXTY (J071) E C W Wong E C W Wong stated that his mount came under pressure from the 500 Metres and failed to respond to his riding thereafter.
He added that, in his opinion, the horse is better suited racing at Happy Valley.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CASA BUDDY (L101) M Chadwick Shortly after the start was bumped by INVICTUS and became unbalanced.
Horse No 4 GRACEFUL HEART (L207) L Hewitson A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 INVICTUS (L277) J Orman Jumped awkwardly.
Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped.
Horse No 6 MEGA CAPTAIN (L287) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING and CASA BUDDY which shifted out after being bumped by INVICTUS.
C L Chau reported that his mount was unable to finish the race off over the concluding stages which he attributed to the horse racing without cover during the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 PARROT BLESSING (L063) H T Mo Shifted in on jumping and made contact with ALMIGHTY LIGHTNING.
Horse No 8 PRECISION MIND (L296) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
For some distance after the 500 Metres raced tight to the outside of SUPER SIXTY.
Over the final 300 Metres lay out.
Horse No 9 RAPID PHANTOM (L204) H Y Yuen Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 10 SEA DIAMOND (L072) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 11 STAR PERFORMER (K207) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that when his mount jumped awkwardly and shifted in towards the inside rail he then elected to maintain his position towards the inside rail for the remainder of the event.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.
Before being allowed to race again, STAR PERFORMER will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 13 CONSPIRATOR (K090) M L Yeung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 ENJOY GOLF (J222) H Bentley Near the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between RAPID PHANTOM and PRECISION MIND which was taken out slightly by SUPER SIXTY when SUPER SIXTY shifted out and away from GRACEFUL HEART (L Hewitson) which shifted out.
L Hewitson was advised to exercise more care.

Zouper Fellow handed up the early lead to hold down second on the grandstand side rail from gate seven but reeled in Star Performer 100m out for a first win at his seventh start. Odds-on favourite Almighty Lightning ran on nicely through the centre for second from midfield. It was another good run carrying 7lb more on the back of a smart debut win in February. Debutant Rapid Phantom stayed on well for third after a handy run near the stands side from gate 13. It was an encouraging effort. Enjoy Golf made ground late for fourth after making his run fourth last from gate 12. He produced another honest run but is not a prolific winner. Star Performer gradually faded after dictating the pace on the far side fence from gate one.
