Favourite Victory Sky had a handy run on the fence and after leading 100m out, he just held on for a third win and a second from his past five starts following a switch to the dirt 1,200m. He loves this surface. Well-backed Aurora Patch made it close on the wire but couldn't quite peg back the winner after a one-out, one-back run. He was able to brush off a ground-covering seventh last start following a win in February. Romantic Son stayed on nicely to get the head down for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was another solid carrying top weight at his initial run on this surface. Blazing Wind just missed a placing after a rails run from midfield. He's very honest on this surface. Capital Delight came from last for fifth without threatening the top four runners. It was a season-best effort at his seventh start this term. E Ho Ho was stopping 100m out after a speed-tracking run from gate nine carrying a feather weight. Young Arrow ran on without threatening after a wide trip towards the rear. Mr Energia was a non-factor after a slow start. Giant Spirit was scratched by order of the stewards on veterinary advice.

Horse No 5 AURORA PATCH (K097) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 MR ENERGIA (J239) J Orman Slow to begin.

J Orman could offer no explanation for his mount failing to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 BLAZING WIND (J157) C L Chau Held up for clear running from the 400 Metres until passing the 200 Metres.

Over the concluding stages was unable to be ridden out to the winning post when disappointed for clear running between VICTORY SKY and AURORA PATCH.

Horse No 8 MUST GO (J133) A Atzeni The performance of MUST GO was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MUST GO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 YOUNG ARROW (J401) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

M L Yeung pleaded guilty of a breach of Rule 100(2) in that he failed to ride YOUNG ARROW, 7th placegetter, out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.

For this breach of the Rule, M L Yeung was fined the sum of $5,000.

Horse No 9 GIANT SPIRIT (L169) H T Mo Reared up in the barriers, got its left front leg caught over the front of the barrier for a short period of time and was withdrawn by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice.

Before being allowed to race again, GIANT SPIRIT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
