Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (562) - CW CHU ALUMNI HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SKY TRUST (J161) E C W Wong A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 4 PATCH OF STARS (J343) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of YOUNG CHAMPION.
Near the 100 Metres shifted in towards YOUNG CHAMPION and then became unbalanced when being corrected by its rider H Bowman.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 MAGNIFIQUE (K141) J Orman Jumped only fairly.
J Orman stated that after obtaining a position with cover behind VICTOR THE WINNER his mount raced keenly in the early stages.
He said as a result near the 800 Metres he was obliged to shift to the outside of VICTOR THE WINNER to avoid that runner's heels which resulted in MAGNIFIQUE racing wide and without cover thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
As this was the second occasion that MAGNIFIQUE had bled, the horse is permanently barred from any further racing.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 BULB GENERAL (K218) Z Purton Briefly held up for clear running near the 400 Metres when racing to the inside of SKY TRUST.
Horse No 9 YOUNG CHAMPION (J195) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) L Hewitson Trainer D A Hayes confirmed that he had instructed Jockey L Hewitson to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No 11 GALACTIC VOYAGE (K514) C L Chau Bounded on jumping and lost ground.
Horse No 2 WUNDERBAR (H411) B Avdulla Withdrawn on 28.3.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore).
Before being allowed to race again, WUNDERBAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Young Champion travelled in the box seat before hitting the front 250m out and just holding on to win in a class record time. The writing had been on the wall with placings in his past three starts. Patch Of Stars made it close on the wire after a rails run from better than midfield. It was another solid run after a setback with lameness last month. Bulb General ran on nicely for third after making his run third last. It was a very good run at his first start in 176 days following a ligament injury. Bottomuptogether grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate three. He was having his first run back following a bleed in December. Early favourite Galactic Voyage was running on late near the inside for fifth without ever looking a threat travelling second last following a slow start. He will need to work on his gate manners.
