Race Six : (559) - THE CUHK ALUMNI CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 ONE MORE (K261) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that from the outside barrier he was obliged to make use of his mount to race outside the lead in the early stages.
He said under its top weight of 135 lbs ONE MORE found it difficult to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 NYX GLUCK (K438) C L Chau Near the 250 Metres C L Chau dropped his left rein for a short distance.
Horse No 5 STATE SECURITY (L263) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 BEST FARM (K579) K C Leung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 FRANCIS MEYNELL (J394) R Kingscote Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 KING DANCE (K157) C Y Ho Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 PERIDOT (K148) A Atzeni Near the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid WINNING NOW when that runner shifted in slightly.
PERIDOT then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.

King Dance was given a patient ride fourth last from gate 13 and dashed strongly down the outside to overhaul Francis Meynell 20m out for a second win from his past three starts. Francis Meynell did everything right but get the win after leading 80m out following a one-off trip travelling better than midfield. He's heading in the right direction after a fifth and fourth at his past two starts. Circuit Fiery had to settle for third after leading 150m out following a one-out, one-back run from gate 10. It was another honest performance. Nyx Gluck ran on late for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He continues to race well over 1,400m. Favourite Peridot disappointed after a box-seat run. He failed to build on a placing last start. Winning Now gradually faded after clearing to lead from gate nine. It was a better effort.
