Race Five : (558) - FACULTY OF EDUCATION ALUMNI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 EVER LUCK (K235) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 NORTHERN FIRE BALL (J488) P N Wong Apprentice P N Wong could offer no excuse for her mount giving ground under pressure over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 PACKING PHOENIX (K442) L Hewitson Lay out under pressure in the Home Straight.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up between CASA PRIMO and PERFECT TRIUMPH.
L Hewitson stated that, in his opinion, the horse would be better suited by being stepped up in distance for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 RUN RUN SUNRISE (K552) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 LUCKY TWENTY (K392) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly.
Passing the 300 Metres, when commencing to give ground, was steadied when crowded between TURBO JEFFERIES and COMET RADIANCE (Y L Chung) which hung out when being shifted to the outside of GEORGIAN SIGMA to obtain clear running.
Whilst the Stewards were satisfied that Jockey Chung had made some effort to straighten his mount he was asked to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 AMO ERGO SUM (K394) K Teetan On jumping shifted out and away from QUICK MONEY and made contact with SYNERGY EXPRESS.
Horse No 9 E HOPEFUL (L181) A Atzeni Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 10 PERFECT TRIUMPH (L275) B Avdulla Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres raced in restricted room to the outside of PACKING PHOENIX which lay out.
Horse No 11 SYNERGY EXPRESS (L252) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 TURBO JEFFERIES (L328) Z Purton Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between RUN RUN SUNRISE and SYNERGY EXPRESS which shifted out after being bumped.
Horse No 13 COMET RADIANCE (L067) Y L Chung On jumping became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters.
Hung out in the Home Straight.

Ever Luck led down the stands side from gate 13 and kept on gamely for a second win at his first go over the straight 1,000m and two placings from five starts. The promising three-year-old enjoyed a gear change and step back in class. Run Run Sunrise ran on nicely for second from midfield near the far side from gate five. It was another good run carrying 6lb more following a win. Georgian Sigma kept on well for third sitting near the speed and in the centre of the track from gate nine. It was a good first performance up the straight 1,000m for the first time after a second and fourth over 1,200m. Perfect Triumph ran on late on the grandstand side to snatch fourth at massive odds after s ettling near the rear from gate 14. It was an improved performance with a step back in distance after a debut failure over 1,200m. Casa Primo kept on all right for fifth after prominent run. He's given a decent sight in both starts but is still a work in progress.
