Max Que was ridden second last nin the nine-horse field and after leading 150m out following a bid widest out, he kept finding and just prevailed for a fourth win and first over 1,600m and five placings from as many starts this term. Joy Of Spring made it close on the wire after getting held up early straight following a rails run from midfield. He was able to bounce back following a Sha Tin 1,800m defeat last start. Sky Heart kept on gamely to finish a close third after getting hounded for the lead to his outside by Californiatotality. He's as honest as the day is long. Awesome Fluke stayed on well for fourth after getting badly held up until the 150m following a prominent run on the fence. He had a clear excuse. Packing Angel ran on steadily with one wider out for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (557) - SHAW ALUMNI HANDICAP - Class 2 - 1600Meters

Horse No 1 CALIFORNIATOTALITY (H418) H Bowman Shifted out at the start before being corrected by its rider.

H Bowman state that after obtaining a position outside the leader SKY HEART in the early stages his mount was then disadvantaged when SWORD POINT improved to his outside.

He said as a consequence CALIFORNIATOTALITY gave ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg.

Before being allowed to race again, CALIFORNIATOTALITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.

Horse No 2 BEAUTY ETERNAL (H008) B Avdulla On jumping was taken out by CALIFORNIATOTALITY.

Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.

Horse No 3 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) A Atzeni Badly held up for clear running between the 400 Metres and the 100 Metres.

Horse No 5 SWORD POINT (G448) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 6 POCKETING (L396) Z Purton Z Purton stated that his mount raced too keenly throughout the early and middle stages and as a result finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 JOY OF SPRING (H383) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.

Approaching the 300 Metres was held up for clear running behind SKY HEART.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 SKY HEART (J092) L Ferraris L Ferraris reported that his mount hung out throughout the event and in the Home Straight when placed under pressure shifted out and away from the rail near the 250 Metres.
