Race One : (554) - CHUNG CHI ALUMNI HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 ACE (K307) C L Chau Jumped awkwardly.
Noted to have lost its left hind plate after the race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 HAPPY BUDDIES (K344) K Teetan Kicked a rail on entering the track, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on arrival at the Start and passed suitable to race.
In the middle stages raced keenly.
For some distance near the 700 Metres was steadied to avoid POWER SUMMIT.
Horse No 3 MAZING GRACE (K166) R Kingscote Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Leaving the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid SMILING EMPEROR.
Approaching the 300 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the inside of MY FLYING ANGEL.
Horse No 4 POWER SUMMIT (K044) B Avdulla Raced ungenerously in the early stages.
Horse No 5 BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Near the 1100 Metres was eased when racing tight to the inside of RICH HORSE which shifted in when racing keenly before being corrected by its rider.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 WINNING MACHINE (K239) E C W Wong Lay out in the Home Straight.
Horse No 7 MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065) J Orman Between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 8 MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A Badel could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 SMILING EMPEROR (J371) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between BLING BLING GENIUS which shifted out and away from ACE and POWER SUMMIT which shifted in and away from HE WAS ME despite the efforts of its rider.
Near the 1100 Metres was steadied to avoid GANGNAM STAR.
Horse No 10 DOUBLE SHOW (G250) L Ferraris Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with GANGNAM STAR.
Horse No 11 HE WAS ME (J535) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that when asked for an effort in the Home Straight his mount responded only fairly and was somewhat disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 RICH HORSE (J191) M F Poon Raced keenly in the early stages.
Near the 1100 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid HAPPY BUDDIES when that runner shifted in.
RICH HORSE then raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.
Horse No 14 GANGNAM STAR (H326) Y L Chung Bumped at the start.
Y L Chung could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.
Before being allowed to race again, GANGNAM STAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
