Racing Incident Report
Race Eight : (552) - FANLING HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 3 FLYING FORTRESS (J445) H Bowman H Bowman stated that his mount was able to hold a handy position in the early stages.
He said when the race quickened from the 800 Metres when WITHOUT COMPARE went forward he was obliged to ride his mount along sooner than he would have liked to maintain a competitive position.
He added after making a wide run on the Home Turn FLYING FORTRESS failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Before being allowed to race again, FLYING FORTRESS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 4 DARYL FLASH (L168) J Orman Bumped on jumping.
J Orman stated that the intention was to hold a midfield position.
He said in the early stages his mount was caught wide and without cover and when the early stages of the event were run outside of standard time he allowed his mount to stride forward to settle outside the lead to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 5 KEEFY (G306) M F Poon Bumped on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 WITHOUT COMPARE (L151) C L Chau Bumped on jumping.
Raced keenly in the early stages, resulting in its rider C L Chau making a forward move from the 900 Metres.
Near the 150 Metres C L Chau dropped his whip.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) Z Purton Shifted out on jumping and made contact with KEEFY.
Z Purton stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time his mount raced too keenly and as a consequence was unable to run on strongly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 FLUORESCENCE (L124) P N Wong Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with POSITIVE SMILE.
Horse No 12 POSITIVE SMILE (J467) M L Yeung Bumped at the start.
M L Yeung stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground from that position due to the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No FIVEFORTWO (K381) L Ferraris Withdrawn on 24.3.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter DARYL FLASH.
Before being allowed to race again, FIVEFORTWO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Well backed Without Compare circled the field from near last 900m out to just head off Keefy 750m out and just held on late for a first local win from five local starts. He had been racing well and the switch to the Valley worked the oracle. Keefy wouldn't go down without a fight after getting headed for the lead by Without Compare after dictating the early pace from gate four. He's racing well without winning. Beauty Alliance stayed on a close third after a box-seat run. He was able to back up a near Sha Tin 1,800m win last start in a higher grade. Solid Win ran on nicely through the centre for fourth without threatening the top three after making his run five back on the fence. It was another decent effort carrying 6lb more following a win. Thriving Brothers kept grinding away for fifth after turning the final bend travelling just better than midfield near the inside. It was another honest effort. Favourite California Moxie ran on without threatening down the outside after making his run five back and one off the fence. He was up in class and wasn't suited by the muddling pace. King Lotus only plodded from midfield.
