Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (550) - KWAI CHUNG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HAYDAY (H321) M F Poon M F Poon stated that with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time his mount was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight, particularly under its top weight of 135 lbs.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 INVINCIBLE STARR (L078) J Orman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 KING PROFIT (J539) E C W Wong Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 GENIUS BABY (K132) K Teetan Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 MOTOR (K165) H Bowman Near the 300 Metres shifted out to improve and made contact with AWESOME TREASURE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SILVER SPURS (J043) D B McMonagle Near the 1000 Metres was hampered when BRAVE WIN hung out.
D B McMonagle stated that the intention was to hold a handy position.
He added after his mount jumped awkwardly and made contact with CALL TO COMMAND he was caught wide in the early stages.
He said he then elected to obtain a position further back in the field than instructed to avoid racing wide.
Horse No 7 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) P N Wong Near the 300 Metres was hampered when MOTOR shifted out and made contact with AWESOME TREASURE, carrying AWESOME TREASURE wider.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 8 DAN ATTACK (H317) H Bentley Near the 150 Metres was eased to avoid KING PROFIT (E C W Wong) which shifted out.
E C W Wong was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 10 BRAVE WIN (K421) C Y Ho C Y Ho stated that making the first turn his mount hung out which resulted in him having to correct it at that point.
Horse No 11 VIGOR ELLEEGANT (J375) M Chadwick As the start as effected stood flat-footed and was very slow to begin.
The barrier manners of VIGOR ELLEEGANT were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR ELLEEGANT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial.
In the early and middle stages raced keenly and near the 900 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of SILVER SPURS.
Horse No 12 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) M L Yeung On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by SILVER SPURS which shifted out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 9 AMAZING FUN (H442) R Kingscote Was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice after sustaining wounds to multiple limbs due to being fractious whilst being transported to the course.
Before being allowed to race again, AMAZING FUN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Motor travelled one off better than midfield and just got up in the final bound through the centre to just deny raging favourite King Profit for a second win from seven starts this term. He's now one-from-one over the Valley 1,200m. King Profit found one just too good after turning the final bend nearly two lengths on top leading 800m out from gate one. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs once across each track. Genius Baby ran on nicely along the inside for third after a rails run from midfield. He was able to build on a second last start on his return to the Valley 1,200m. Dan Attack kept on well after a box-seat run. It was another honest performance over the Valley 1,200m this term. Brave Win ran on well near the inside for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was clearly his best performance from eight starts. Hayday didn't find much when push came to shove after a speed-tracking run from gate two. Specked late Vigor Elleegant came from well back to finish next best without threatening the top five after missing the kick by about six lengths. He is his own worst enemy.
