Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Win Method was perfectly rated in front from gate two to make it two wins on the bounce following a switch to the Valley 1,650m. He should remain in the grade and can win another. Take Action was closing with every stride to come up just short after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's ready to break through following seconds in three of his past four starts. Punted late Our Lucky Glory stayed on a non-threatening third following a box-seat run. It was another honest performance. Kolachi ran on steadily for fourth after a rails run from midfield. He's gone all right in half his six starts over the Valley 1,650m this term. Specked late Yiu Cheung Victory kept on one paced for fifth after slotting one-out, one-back after a wide trip early on from midfield. Absolute Awakened stayed on next best after improving 550m out travelling five back and three wide from gate 12. Ragga Bomb weakened in the run to the wire after working forward three wide to eventually sit second outside the eventual winner 1,200m out from gate seven. The big weight didn't help his cause.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two : (546) - TSUEN WAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 RAGGA BOMB (K162) H Bowman Bumped on jumping.

H Bowman stated that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward.

He said in the Home Straight RAGGA BOMB finished the race off in a one-paced manner and over the concluding stages was eased when racing in restricted room between ABSOLUTE AWAKENED and YIU CHEUNG VICTORY which was taken out slightly by KOLACHI, which prevented him from riding his mount out to the end of the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 PRESTIGE SUPERIOR (K383) H T Mo Bumped on jumping.

K C Leung (ABSOLUTE AWAKENED) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 500 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of TAKE ACTION, resulting in TAKE ACTION being taken in onto PRESTIGE SUPERIOR which was checked when it lost its running.

K C Leung was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 15 April 2026 and to expire on Monday, 20 April 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays).

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his good race riding record.

H T Mo stated that from a favourable barrier and with his mount stepping up in distance he was asked to hold a more forward position than its previous race starts.

Horse No 3 WIN METHOD (K406) L Hewitson Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) K C Leung Was left racing wide and without cover from the 700 Metres.

K C Leung pleaded guilty to a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 500 Metres (see PRESTIGE SUPERIOR).

Horse No 5 TURIN WARRIOR (G150) M F Poon From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 7 NORTHERN BEAST (H233) J Orman Trainer D J Hall confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed J Orman to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.

Horse No 8 PRECISION HOPE (L047) A Badel Shifted in at the start and became unbalanced when it made contact with RAGGA BOMB.

Leaving the 500 Metres was steadied to avoid PRESTIGE SUPERIOR when that runner was checked.

PRECISION HOPE was then held up between the 500 Metres and the 300 Metres as PRESTIGE SUPERIOR gave ground.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have a respiratory condition which requires further assessment.

Horse No 9 TAKE ACTION (J098) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.

Near the 500 Metres made contact with PRESTIGE SUPERIOR when taken in by ABSOLUTE AWAKENED.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 10 YIU CHEUNG VICTORY (J529) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover until near the 700 Metres.

Horse No 11 KOLACHI (J395) H Bentley Made contact with a rail before leaving the Parade Ring, was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the Start and passed suitable to race.

Jumped only fairly.

Making the first turn near the 1300 Metres raced tight to the inside of TAKE ACTION when TAKE ACTION was taken in slightly by YIU CHEUNG VICTORY.
