Race Eight : (542) - DESIGNS ON ROME HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 KARMA (G392) D B McMonagle From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Was left racing wide and without cover from the 850 Metres.
D B McMonagle stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to finish the race off in the Home Straight from that position.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 AERODYNAMICS (K564) Z Purton Z Purton stated that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result blundered and lost ground.
He said as a consequence AERODYNAMICS settled back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 BLAZING WUKONG (K335) L Ferraris L Ferraris reported that his mount did not stay the 1800 Metres of today's race.

Raced keenly in the early stages.
Between the 400 Metres and the 50 Metres was held up for clear running between LIVEANDLETLIVE and ENTHRALLED.
Near the 50 Metres PACKING FIGHTER improved into a tight run between LIVEANDLETLIVE and ENTHRALLED where it finished the race off well.
Horse No 11 ENTHRALLED (K252) A Badel A Badel stated that his mount jumped well today and as a consequence settled in a more forward position than he had intended.

Shamus Storm travelled one off in midfield before surging to the lead 80m out to post a second win at his first start over 1,800m from 11 starts. He relished a rise in trip and light weight after going OK in his opening four starts this term. Favourite Smart Avenue was closing with every stride for second after making his run five back and one off the fence. He's ready to win another with seconds in three of his past four starts. Old-timer Money Catcher stayed on nicely for third after a prominent run one off the fence. It was another honest performance this season. Liveandletlive gradually faded after clearing to lead from gate 13. He continues to run well without winning this season. Packing Fighter was unlucky after getting held up behind Money Catcher from the 250m until the 100m following a box-seat run. He's improved with each start. Enthralled weakened after a speed-tracking run. He's not far off a winning run.
