Race Four : (538) - SKY DARCI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 EVERSTAR (K264) Y L Chung Leaving the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and was steadied to avoid LUCKY PLUS.
EVERSTAR continued to race keenly and lay out in the middle stages.
Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid GOLD PATCH and as a result became unbalanced.
Horse No 3 GOLD PATCH (L099) Z Purton Near the 550 Metres was steadied when crowded between ISLAND BUDDY which shifted out slightly and ELEGANT LIFE (E C W Wong) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
Jockey Wong was reprimanded.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 MASTER LUCKY (K582) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
Near the 1100 Metres improved into a run when there was not sufficient room and then raced tight to the inside of GREAT SPIRIT before shifting in and away from that runner.
Leaving the 800 Metres was steadied when crowded between HAPPY SHOOTER which shifted in when racing keenly and EVERSTAR which shifted out when being steadied to avoid LUCKY PLUS.
Horse No 5 HAPPY SHOOTER (J427) L Hewitson In the early stages raced keenly.
Leaving the 900 Metres was shifted to the outside of GOLD PATCH and as a result made contact with ELEGANT LIFE which was taken wider.
Lay out making the Home Turn.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 SHANDONG SPIRIT (L156) J Orman Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by GREAT SPIRIT which shifted in.
Near the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded by MASTER LUCKY (A Atzeni) which, after improving to the inside of GREAT SPIRIT when there was not sufficient room to do so, was then taken in by GREAT SPIRIT.
A Atzeni was reprimanded.
Horse No 10 CELESTIAL STRIDER (L009) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was eased when crowded between ISLAND BUDDY and GREAT SPIRIT which shifted in.
Horse No 12 LEATHER GOODS (K401) H T Mo From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) E C W Wong Leaving the 900 Metres was hampered when taken wider by HAPPY SHOOTER.
Near the 550 Metres shifted in and made contact with GOLD PATCH, resulting in its rider E C W Wong correcting his mount.
As a result ELEGANT LIFE shifted out abruptly and made the Home Turn wide.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Gold Patch chased the leader near the inside from gate 13 and kept grinding away through the centre to overhaul Island Buddy in the concluding stages for a second win and third from three starts. Island Buddy would not go down without a fight after straightening a length on top leading from gate four. He's won twice to go with a second and fourth following a stable change. Elegant Life stayed on well for third despite ducking in and out under pressure after chasing the speed three wide from gate eight. It was a good effort up in grade following a win. Punted late Voyage Boss ran on well with two wider out for fourth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest effort. Goldentronicmighty got going late for fifth after making his run two from the rear from gate nine. He rarely produces a bad run over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Great Spirit ran on for sixth after making his run five back and three deep with cover from gate seven.
