Racing Incident Report
Race One : (535) - LUGER HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 ROBOT STAR (K559) Z Purton Leaving the 1100 Metres ROBOT STAR and FORZA TORO made contact due to both runners shifting ground slightly.
A short distance later ROBOT STAR then commenced to race keenly and was checked when crowded between LUCKY SECRET which gave ground and then shifted out when taken wider by WINNING DIAMOND (M L Yeung) and FORZA TORO (H Bowman) which shifted in slightly.
H Bowman was reprimanded and advised to ensure he leaves sufficient racing room to runners to his inside.
M L Yeung was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 50 Metres was checked to avoid MEGA MASTERMIND (B Avdulla) which shifted out abruptly before being corrected by its rider.
B Avdulla was severely reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 BUCEPHALAS (K096) K C Leung Bumped at the start.
Leaving the 1100 Metres made contact with MATSU VICTOR due to both runners shifting ground.
K C Leung stated that after holding an on-pace position his mount gave ground noticeably near the 200 Metres but could offer no excuse for the performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 FORZA TORO (K355) H Bowman Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by WINNING DIAMOND which shifted out.
Leaving the 1100 Metres FORZA TORO and ROBOT STAR made contact due to both runners shifting ground slightly.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 4 THE ABSOLUTE (H438) L Ferraris Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Horse No 5 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) D B McMonagle D B McMonagle stated that with the early stages of the event being run slightly outside of standard time his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner when it found it difficult to make up ground from back in the field.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 GRAND TURBO (L138) R Kingscote On jumping was bumped by THE ABSOLUTE which shifted out.
As a result GRAND TURBO shifted out and made contact with FIGHTING MACHINE.
Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid LUCKY SECRET when racing tight to the inside of LUCKY SECRET which gave ground.
Horse No 8 MEGA MASTERMIND (L044) B Avdulla Over the final 100 Metres shifted out abruptly, resulting in its rider having to stop riding and straighten.
A warning was placed on the racing manners of MEGA MASTERMIND.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 MULTISUPERSTAR (L163) A Badel Bumped at the start.
Near the 350 Metres blundered and approaching the 300 Metres lay in when having difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned close to ROBOT STAR.
Horse No 10 CIRCUIT MARSHAL (K526) C L Chau Leaving the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid GRAND TURBO when that runner was checked.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 LUCKY SECRET (L073) E C W Wong Leaving the 1100 Metres was steadied when crowded between WINNING DIAMOND which shifted out slightly and MATSU VICTOR (C Y Ho) which, after making contact with BUCEPHALAS, then shifted in and away from that runner.
C Y Ho was advised to exercise more care.
Near the 800 Metres, when racing keenly, lost ground when being checked to avoid MATSU VICTOR.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 FIGHTING MACHINE (J015) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by GRAND TURBO.
Horse No 13 MATSU VICTOR (H472) C Y Ho Leaving the 1100 Metres made contact with BUCEPHALAS due to both runners shifting ground.
After being crossed by BUCEPHALAS approaching the 800 Metres raced keenly and was steadied to avoid BUCEPHALAS.
Over the concluding stages had difficulty obtaining clear running when positioned close to ROBOT STAR when that runner was checked.
Horse No 14 WINNING DIAMOND (K216) M L Yeung M L Yeung stated that he was instructed to settle the horse where comfortable.
He added that when his mount jumped well and the early stages of the race were run slightly outside of standard time he was able to hold an on-pace position without having to pressure his mount to do so.

Mega Mastermind was perfectly rated in front from gate 11 under Brenton Avdulla despite running out sharply late for a maiden win at his fifth start. Well-backed Circuit Marshal finished strongly down the outside for second after making his run third last from gate five. It was his best effort from four starts. Flying Boom ran on well near the inside for third after a rails run from midfield. It was another pleading effort carrying 6lb more following a win. Multisuperstar ran on nicely with one wider out for fourth after a wide trip with cover settling behind midfield from gate 13. It was clearly his best run from four starts with a step up to 1,600m. Favourite Robot Star finished next best after getting hampered 50m out by the winner but was already a beaten runner following a wide trip with cover from midfield. Forza Toro had an excuse after getting posted three wide without cover chasing the speed sitting third from gate nine.
