Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (530) - THE IRELAND TROPHY (HANDICAP) - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 KING OBERON (H407) B Avdulla Bumped heavily on jumping and became unbalanced.
B Avdulla stated that from the outside barrier he had to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward as instructed.
He said when SKY CAP improved to his outside leaving the 700 Metres his mount came under pressure and did not finish the race off thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 AUTOMATED (K177) M L Yeung Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 3 DIAMOND SPARKLE (L182) L Ferraris On jumping shifted out and made heavy contact with KING OBERON.
From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 4 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) C Y Ho Lay in over the final 100 Metres and over the concluding stages shifted in and made slight contact with SWAGGER BRO.
C Y Ho reported that he was given no specific instructions.
He said when caught wide in the early stages he elected to ride the horse in a conservative manner to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 5 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SKY CAP (K125) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 VIEW OF COSMOS (L060) C L Chau Shortly after the start made contact with GRAND MASTERMIND due to both runners shifting ground.
Horse No 8 GRAND MASTERMIND (L084) L Hewitson Shortly after the start made contact with VIEW OF COSMOS due to both runners shifting ground.
Horse No 9 HOLMES A COURT (J511) H Bowman On jumping made contact with SWAGGER BRO.
H Bowman was fined the sum of $10,000 for failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
In assessing penalty the Stewards determined that Jockey Bowman prejudiced his mount's chances of finishing in 5th placing.
Horse No 10 FULL OF LAUGHTER (L017) R Kingscote On jumping shifted in and made contact with the hindquarters of WINNING CHAMPION.
Horse No 11 SWAGGER BRO (K089) A Badel Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 12 WINNING CHAMPION (K429) H Bentley On jumping became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters.
In the early stages raced ungenerously and refused to settle.
Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when racing in restricted room between SWAGGER BRO and SKY CAP.
Horse No FORTUNE GOLDSADDLE (L090) H T Mo Withdrawn on 17.3.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter VIEW OF COSMOS.
Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE GOLDSADDLE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Well-backed Sky Cap pressed forward from midfield to just shade Holmes A Court for the lead 600m out, before keeping on gamely for the win. He was able to build on a season best third last start. Favourite Rainbow Seven was closing with every stride for second after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was another good run. Swagger Bro finished willingly near the outside for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Punted late Winning Champion stayed on well for fourth after a wide trip from midfield. He'll be a force to be reckoned with if he finds his way into Class Five. Jolly Companion ran on nicely down the outside for fifth after making his run second last from gate nine. Holmes A Court was yielding ground near the 100m after clearing to lead 900m out from gate five. He's not far off a rating bottom. Grand Mastermind just held his ground after a rails run from midfield. Debutant Diamond Sparkle made some ground late after a wide trip travelling fourth last from gate 11. King Oberon didn't have much left in the tank after working hard three wide.
