Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (517) - NGA TSIN WAI HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CROSSBORDERDUDE (L022) Z Purton After travelling a short distance was bumped by CALL ME SPARKLE.
On a number of occasions between the 100 Metres and the 50 Metres made contact with MALPENSA due to both runners shifting ground.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 BRILLIANT WINNER (L203) C L Chau Bumped approaching the 800 Metres.
Horse No 4 CALL ME SPARKLE (K571) M L Yeung After travelling a short distance shifted out and bumped CROSSBORDERDUDE.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CIRRUS SPEED.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 MALPENSA (K545) J Orman On a number of occasions between the 100 Metres and the 50 Metres made contact with CROSSBORDERDUDE due to both runners shifting ground.
J Orman reported that his mount jumped awkwardly and as a result got its head up and struck him in the face.
Trainer W Y So confirmed that Jockey Orman was given the option of taking up a forward position if his mount commenced well enough to do so.
Horse No 6 PERFECT TRIUMPH (L275) H Bowman Approaching the 800 Metres made contact with BRILLIANT WINNER when racing tight to the inside of BULLISH PRIDE.
Was left racing very wide and without cover from the 600 Metres.
H Bowman reported that his mount, which was having its first race start, raced greenly throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 RUSSET GLOW (L059) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly.
Held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 350 Metres.
Over the final 50 Metres could not be ridden out when held up behind MALPENSA.
Horse No 8 SEA CHARIOT (K358) D B McMonagle Noted to have blood at its mouth on arrival at the Start, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Held up for clear running between the 450 Metres and the 300 Metres.
When commencing to finish the race off well became held up for clear running over the final 50 Metres behind CIRRUS SPEED and as a result was not ridden out to the finish of the event.
Horse No 9 SUPREME VOYAGER (L043) B Avdulla From the outside barrier raced keenly in the early stages when being shifted across behind runners.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running and after the 350 Metres was steadied to avoid MASTER PHOENIX when that runner did not quicken.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 BULLISH PRIDE (K181) K Teetan Raced very wide and without cover until near the 600 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 RUBY SAILING (H347) M Chadwick M Chadwick reported that the intention was to lead the event.
He said when RUBY SAILING was slow to begin it settled in a midfield position where it raced keenly.
Horse No 12 CIRRUS SPEED (K279) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
M F Poon reported that the connections had expected him to settle behind midfield.
He said when CIRRUS SPEED jumped well today he was able to obtain a more forward position than its previous race starts.

Call Me Sparkle quickened nicely from better than midfield to get up in the final few metres for the win. He had shown hints of ability to place in two of five trials. Supreme Voyager finished strongly through the centre to make it close on the wire after coming off heels for a clear run 300m out following a patient ride out back for the most part from gate 12. It was clearly his best run to date from four starts. Odds-on favourite Crossborderdude was a head away in third after chasing the leader Malpensa from gate five. It was another good run carrying top weight. Master Phoenix ran on steadily to finish a close fourth after a handy run along the inside from gate two. It was a return to form after two disappointing runs. Malpensa would not go down without a fight after clearing to lead from gate 10. He's building towards a win.
