Recap by phillip woo

Crunched to start a clear favourite, Smart Golf dictated a solid pace from gate 10 and just scrambled in to ring up a third win from five starts. He appreciated the lighter weight despite a rise in class. Wukong Jewellery was closing with every stride to miss by a neck after a rails run from midfield. He was able to build on a closing fifth last start at his first go over 1,200m. Red Sea had his chance but found a couple too good after a box-seat run. He's run well to place in both local runs. Thunder Kit ran on well with two wider out for fourth without threatening the top three following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He tends to wander under pressure and may require a move to blinkers or cheek pieces. All Out For Six gradually faded after a speed-tracking run from gate 12. The big weight took its toll despite a downgrade.
