Recap by phillip woo

Metro Power was given a perfectly judged ride in front from gate six to just hold off the fast-finishing Ace Champion for a second win and first over the Valley 1,200m from 10 starts this term. Ace Champion ran on well to finish a close second after a rails run from midfield. The step up to 1,200m nearly worked the oracle after rallying nicely for second when trying the Valley 1,000m last start. Meowth stayed on nicely for third after a prominent run wide without cover from gate seven. It was another solid effort following back-to-back seconds in Class Four. Wonder Kit just held his ground after a box- seat run. He was able to build on a fifth last start but was given every chance. Favourite Spirit Of Peace made some ground late near the outside for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He didn't get the race run to suit. Outgate faded after a speed-tracking run from gate eighth. He could not back up a win last start carrying significantly more weight. Young Arrow just held his ground after a one-off trip from better than midfield. Thumped late in betting Wonderstar was a tiring last after a wide trip from midfield.
