Recap by phillip woo

Amazing Kid was wide with cover from midfield and was too good after hitting the front 60m out for a fourth win and first in Class Three from his past five starts. He's in cracking form this season. Well-backed Metro Power stayed on gamely for second after leading 150m out following a speed-tracking run outside Matters Most from gate six. It was a good effort at his first start over the Valley 1,200m. Storming Dragon was doing his best work late through the centre for third after making his run two from the rear. He rarely produces a bad run over this track and trip. Pegas stayed on well for fourth after sitting wide without cover near the front from gate seven. It was a pleasing effort at his first Valley start. Veteran Wings Of War just lost fourth late after getting all the favours following a prominent run. He's having trouble recapturing top form. Lucky Planet made good ground late with one wider out travelling fourth last after missing the start. He's at his best when allowed to dictate the run. Beauty Glory ran on late without threatening down the outside after making his run second last from gate 10.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (493) - NEW LANTAO BUS HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 LUCKY PLANET (H235) M F Poon Lay in in the Home Straight.

Over the concluding stages was awkwardly placed near STORMING DRAGON when it continued to lay in.

As a consequence LUCKY PLANET could not be ridden out to the finish of the race.

M F Poon stated that the instructions were to go forward and lead if possible.

He said LUCKY PLANET was standing awkwardly in the starting gates and as a result was slow to begin.

He said this resulted in LUCKY PLANET settling further back in the field than intended.

Horse No 3 PEGAS (L075) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 4 SPICY GOLD (H440) D B McMonagle Jumped awkwardly, made contact with the left side of the starting gate and became unbalanced.

SPICY GOLD then shifted out and made contact with STORMING DRAGON.

Making the first turn passing the 1100 Metres raced tight to the inside of WINGS OF WAR which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.

D B McMonagle stated that the horse failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and could not offer any explanation for the horse's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 WINGS OF WAR (H162) M L Yeung Lay in making the first turn and made contact with SPICY GOLD.

Horse No 7 BEAUTY GLORY (E459) A Badel A Badel stated that from the outside barrier he was obliged to settle further back in the field.
