Recap by phillip woo

Pakistan Legacy showed superior gate speed to lead from the widest draw and kept finding in the home straight for a second career win over the Sha Tin 1,200m from 11 starts. Rising Force had his chance in the box seat but couldn't reel in the winner. It was another runner-up performance following a win in January. Geneva ran on nicely late through the centre for third after making his run two from the rear. It was a good run on his season debut following back surgery and a lame left hind. Firmed favourite Aurio was a never dangerous fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He has continued to fill the frame three times after a win in December. Punted late Wukong Jewellery made some ground late near the outside for fifth after biding his time three from the rear. The 1,400m suits him better. Armour War Eagle ran on without threatening near the inside after making his run at the rear from. He wasn't suited by the muddling tempo.

Racing Incident Report

Race Eight : (482) - CITI INSURANCE SERVICES HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 LUCY IN THE SKY (J275) M Guyon Passing the 400 Metres endeavoured to obtain clear running between SUPERB KING and AURIO when there was not sufficient room to do so.

As a result LUCY IN THE SKY made heavy contact with AURIO for some distance thereafter and near the 350 Metres was checked when disappointed for clear running.

M Guyon was advised to ensure that there is sufficient racing room when improving into runs.

LUCY IN THE SKY was then shifted to the inside of SUPERB KING and near the 150 Metres was steadied when disappointed for clear running between SUPERB KING and GENEVA (H Bowman) which shifted out.

H Bowman was advised to exercise more care.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 2 GENEVA (J114) H Bowman Bumped shortly after the start.

Briefly held up near the 350 Metres.

Horse No 3 PAKISTAN LEGACY (J363) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 RISING FORCE (K236) R Kingscote Bumped on jumping.

R Kingscote stated that whilst he expected to hold a forward position he was given the option of obtaining cover if circumstances permitted.

He said when PAKISTAN LEGACY showed the intent to lead the event he allowed that runner to cross him and obtain a position with cover behind that horse.

Assistant Trainer H F Yiu representing Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions and stated that at its last start on 25 January 2026 the horse was disadvantaged by taking on for the lead and as a result he had given Jockey Kingscote the option to ride it with cover.

Sent for sampling post-race.
