Recap by phillip woo

Galactic Voyage travelled third last after a tardy start but quickened nicely to push into the clear 340m out and take control 50m out for back-to-back wins from four local starts. Mickley found one too smart after claiming the lead 200m out from long-time leader Wonderstar following a handy run on the fence. He was able to back up an eye-catching second last start. Punted late Sight Hermoso stayed on well for third after a oneout, one-back run. He produced another honest performance with a step up to 1,200m. Celestial Hero ran on steadily for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He's racing well but continues to be anchored by big weights. Perfectday made ground late for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He does appear from his past couple runs, once across each track, to be close to his mark.

Racing Incident Report

Race Six : (480) - CITI WEALTH ADVISORY SERVICES HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 CELESTIAL HERO (K363) D B McMonagle Near the 500 Metres was eased when it shifted to the outside of ORIGIN OF FORM to improve.

Horse No 2 MICKLEY (K082) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 GALACTIC VOYAGE (K514) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.

Near the 350 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of CELESTIAL HERO.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 PERFECTDAY (K238) J McDonald Shortly after the start was taken out by WONDERSTAR and made contact with JOLTIN.

Near the 500 Metres became unbalanced when being steadied and shifted to the outside of CELESTIAL HERO when CELESTIAL HERO improved to the outside of ORIGIN OF FORM.

Horse No 8 JOLTIN (L186) M L Yeung After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between PERFECTDAY which was taken out by WONDERSTAR and SIGHT HERMOSO which shifted in.

Horse No 9 LUCKY DOCTOR (L225) K C Leung Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Horse No 10 ONE MORE (K261) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and was disappointing.

Trainer M Newnham confirmed that with the horse dropping back from 1400 Metres to 1200 Metres today Jockey Hewitson was obliged to make some use of the horse in the early stages to go forward and, in his opinion, this was the reason why it was not able to finish off in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 ORIGIN OF FORM (K517) M F Poon M F Poon reported that the intention was to find a midfield position with cover.

He said when ORIGIN OF FORM jumped well he was able to hold an on-pace position but was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
