Raging favourite Ka Ying Rising tracked the speed before surging to the lead 350m out and once again proving a class above the rest to smash the track record and register a record-setting 18th consecutive success. He's a once in a lifetime racehorse. Punted late Helios Express ran on nicely to finish a clear cut second after a rails run from midfield. He's a very smart sprinter on his day. Veteran Lucky Sweynesse just won the battle for third after a prominent run on the fence. He was able to back up a solid second last start against the top milers. Galaxy Patch rallied near the inside to just miss a placing after biding his time at the rear from gate seven. It was a nice effort. Raging Blizzard made good ground late to just miss the frame after biding his time two from the rear. It was an OK effort at his first start over 1,400m. Copartner Prance didn't have much to offer after getting headed for the lead.

Horse No 3 HELIOS EXPRESS (H302) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 RED LION (H115) D B McMonagle Jumped only fairly.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 GALAXY PATCH (H399) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 6 SUNLIGHT POWER (H244) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Lay in in the Home Straight under pressure.

Horse No 8 PATCH OF THETA (H485) M Guyon Near the 800 Metres lay in behind KA YING RISING and as a result was steadied to avoid that runner.

When commencing to give ground near the 150 Metres was eased to avoid RAGING BLIZZARD which shifted out to improve.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
