Horse No 1 INVINCIBLE SAGE (H301) J Orman Lay in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
Horse No 2 COLOURFUL KING (K227) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 STELLAR EXPRESS (J186) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SUPERB CAPITALIST (H092) M Chadwick M Chadwick reported that on jumping his mount blundered, resulting in SUPERB CAPITALIST becoming unbalanced.
He said throughout the event SUPERB CAPITALIST hung out and did not finish the race off when under pressure.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) Y L Chung Y L Chung confirmed the instructions were to lead the event but his mount failed to show sufficient pace in the early stages to do so.

Stellar Express led from gate two and kept finding to hold off odds-on favourite Colourful King for a fifth win, including his past three, from 15 starts over the straight 1,000m. Colourful King came to win the race but couldn't get by Stellar Express after making his run early on at the rear from gate four. He had no excuse after a badly held up second last start behind that same rival. Invincible Sage stayed on well for third from midfield on the far side from gate three. It was a good run carrying top weight on his return to the track and trip of a third two runs ago. Drombeg Banner kept on all right for fourth after prompting the pace in the centre from gate one. It was an OK effort at his first start over the straight 1,000m. Magic Control just plodded after a prominent run on the grandstand side. He's struggling to find his best form this season.
