Race Eight : (451) - YUE YEE HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 HAPPY INDEX (L152) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 MASTER OF ALL (H177) M L Yeung Bumped on jumping.
When giving ground near the 350 Metres was bumped and taken wider by NEW FUTURE FOLKS.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 NEW FUTURE FOLKS (J418) H Bowman H Bowman stated that when his mount commenced well he was able to hold a more forward position than its previous race starts.
He added after the 400 Metres he endeavoured to improve into a run between MASTER OF ALL and THE UNIQUE STAR which resulted in his mount making contact with MASTER OF ALL.
He said after this NEW FUTURE FOLKS finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea and also found the horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 8 FIT FOR BEAUTY (K489) A Atzeni Bumped on jumping.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A Atzeni stated that his mount settled slightly further back in the field than intended.
He added when asked for an effort in the Home Straight he was satisfied with the horse's finishing effort, particularly as it was dropping back in distance from its previous race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 THUNDER KIT (L121) M Guyon Jumped only fairly, shifted out and shortly after the start was then steadied to avoid AKERMANIS GOLD which shifted in.
Near the 100 Metres shifted in and made contact with JUMBO TREASURE when improving into a tight run to the inside of HAPPY INDEX.
Horse No 11 ANOTHER ZONDA (K176) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Trainer Y S Tsui confirmed the instructions were to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages as at its most recent starts ANOTHER ZONDA had not finished its races off when ridden in a forward position.
He added the connections also had expected good pace in the race.
Horse No 12 INVINCIBLE STARR (L078) M F Poon Jumped awkwardly.
Making the turn approaching the 800 Metres lay out when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of AKERMANIS GOLD which shifted in slightly.
M F Poon reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
Horse No 14 JUBILANT WINNER (J346) A Badel Near the 350 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of HAPPY INDEX to obtain clear running.

Heavily supported Jubilant Winner travelled prominently on the fence and got up 50m out for a third win and first in Class Three from six outings this term. He was able to build on a speed-tracking fourth last start. Happy Index found one too good leading 200m out after chasing the leader on the fence from gate eight. He ran well in defeat carrying 135lb following a win. Thunder Kit ran on nicely for a placing after making his run three back on the fence following a slow start. The step up to 1,200m was good for him after running well in one of two runs over the straight 1,000m. Punted late Jumbo Treasure gradually faded after turning the final bend nearly three lengths on top dictating the pace as from gate five. Akermanis Gold made good ground late to win a blanket finish for fifth without threatening the first four after biding his time four from the rear. It was an improved performance with a step up to 1,200m at his third local start.
