Racing Incident Report
Race Three : (446) - LUCKY STAR HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 BUCEPHALAS (K096) M Chadwick M Chadwick stated that the instructions were to hold a handy position.
He said from a wide barrier he was required to make use of the horse in the early stages to comply with his instructions and as a result BUCEPHALAS did not finish the race off after being placed under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, BUCEPHALAS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 COLOURFUL GAN (L054) B Avdulla Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Horse No 3 MASTER TRILLION (J442) K C Leung Lay out over the final 100 Metres.
Horse No 5 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) J Orman Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 6 GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) C L Chau Approaching the 250 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of TIME TO FIRE.
Over the concluding stages C L Chau dropped his left rein for a number of strides.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 VICTOR SUPREME (K547) D B McMonagle Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 8 PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that he was instructed to settle his mount where comfortable.
He said the horse jumped well but in the early stages did not show early pace and when he was concerned there was something amiss with it he eased it down from the event in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of PEARL OF PANG'S, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, PEARL OF PANG'S will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 FLYING BOOM (K327) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 GLORIASTAR (K439) L Ferraris Near the 200 Metres the whip of L Ferraris was knocked from his grasp by the whip of H Bentley, rider of DASHING MAURISON.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
Before being allowed to race again, GLORIASTAR will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 13 SMILING FALCON (K459) R Kingscote Over the final 100 Metres lay out and approaching the winning post its rider R Kingscote was obliged to stop riding and straighten his mount when it shifted out.
Horse No 14 DASHING MAURISON (K374) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No FORZA TORO (K355) H Bowman Withdrawn on 18.2.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter FLOOF.
Before being allowed to race again, FORZA TORO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Flying Boom had a one-off trip from behind and after leading 100m out, he just held off Glorious Success for a first win at his sixth start. Glorious Success did everything right but get the win after a rails run from midfield. He's honest but has trouble winning. Smiling Falcon ran on nicely near the inside for third after making his run five back on the fence. He didn't the mind the step up to 1,600m after running on well for third and fifth in two of four other starts over 1,400m this term. Master Trillion had to settle for fourth after rushing to the lead 200m out following a handy run on the fence. It was an improved effort on recent runs following a downgrade. Victor Supreme made noticeable ground late near the outside for fifth after settling a clear cut second last from gate seven. It was an improved effort with a step up to 1,600m.
