Recap by phillip woo

Turquoise Velocity led near the stands side from gate 11 and kept on gamely to beat outsider Looking Bright for a second win and first in the grade from three starts. He appreciated the step up in class carrying 18lb less. Looking Bright kept on very well after prompting the pace in the centre of the track from gate one. It was a good run at his first start back after a nosebleed in November. Punted late Sight Hermoso ran on late near the far side for third after travelling behind midfield from gate seven. He's run well to fill the frame in all three starts at this level. Metro Power stuck around for fourth after sitting near the front from gate 13. Fast Responder stayed on all right for fifth travelling better than midfield on the far side from an inadequate draw. He rarely produces a bad run. Favourite City Gold Banner ran on without threatening travelling third last after a slow start. It's always difficult when you miss the kick over the minimum trip.

Horse No 2 CITY GOLD BANNER (L155) Z Purton Z Purton stated that his mount was fractious whilst proceeding to the starting gates.

He said when the start was effected CITY GOLD BANNER was slow to begin and as a result settled back in the field.
