Racing Incident Report
Race Five : (438) - TVB LO AND BEHOLD HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 WINFIELD (K446) L Ferraris L Ferraris stated that with blinkers being reapplied today WINFIELD raced too keenly in the lead and as a result set a faster pace than he would have liked.
He added as a result WINFIELD weakened in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of WINFIELD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, WINFIELD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 2 DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) H Bowman Bumped at the start.
Near the 800 Metres was taken wider by SKY VINO and then was obliged to race very wide and without cover thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 DEFINITIVE (K037) K Teetan Near the 400 Metres made contact with ROMANTIC THOR when disappointed for clear running to the outside of CHILL KAKA.
Horse No 4 I CAN (H381) M F Poon M F Poon stated that his mount failed to travel throughout the race and, in his opinion, was not suited by racing on the All Weather surface.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 ANOTHER WORLD (K005) C Y Ho Shifted in on jumping and bumped DRAGON AIR FORCE.
Horse No 7 ROMANTIC THOR (K012) Z Purton Blundered on jumping, became unbalanced, shifted out and made contact with DRAGON AIR FORCE.
Bumped near the 400 Metres.
Horse No 8 SKY VINO (K054) E C W Wong Near the 800 Metres was steadied when positioned close to the heels of TURIN MASCOT.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 CHILL KAKA (J486) R Kingscote R Kingscote reported that he had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to race outside the lead.
He said with the early and middle stages of the event being run inside of standard time CHILL KAKA was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 LEAPING STAR (L189) M L Yeung From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 900 Metres got its head up when being steadied to avoid SKY VINO.

Horse No 12 STURDY RUBY (H207) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 13 WUKONG JEWELLERY (K314) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Horse No 14 OSI HONOUR (K232) Y L Chung Jumped only fairly.

Sky Vino was ridden patiently fourth last and quickened brilliantly near the outside to get up in the concluding stages for a third win and first on this surface from 17 starts. He was suited by the pace and the victory gave trainer Caspar Fownes a remarkable 1,200m success. Punted late Dragon Air Force whizzed home late down the outside to finish a close second after biding his time two from the rear. It was another solid effort. Romantic Thor did everything right but get the win after leading near the 200m following a speed-tracking run. The switch in surface nearly worked the oracle. Another World stayed on well for fourth after a wide trip travelling midfield from gate 10. It was another honest performance. Definitive just missed the frame after a prominent run along the inside from gate two. Osi Honour ran on without threatening after a rails run from behind midfield. It was an improved effort at this third local start.
