Recap by phillip woo

Serangoon settled midfield before quickening nicely four deep on straightening to get up 60m out for a third win from 36 starts. Favourite Audacious Pursuit found one too good on the day after leading 200m out following a one-off trip from midfield. He's close to another win after seconds in his past two of three starts. Reliable Dad wove a run late for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's naturally building towards a win in his four starts. Punted late Charity Together made good ground late near the outside for fourth after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. It was another honest effort. Viva Taste finished well for fifth after making his run third last from gate 12. He proved a closing fourth last start on dirt was not a fluke. Ace was on his tippy toes 100m out after leading 350m out following a speed-tracking run outside Good Good from gate eight. Special Hedge will sleep well sitting wide near the front.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (437) - TVB POK OI CHARITY SHOW HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters

Horse No 1 AUDACIOUS PURSUIT (K398) E C W Wong Raced keenly in the middle stages.

Near the 900 Metres AUDACIOUS PURSUIT, which continued to race keenly, was steadied to avoid FOREVER GLORIOUS, resulting in AUDACIOUS PURSUIT shifting out and making heavy contact with SHARPEN BRIGHT.

When B Avdulla, rider of SHARPEN BRIGHT, then rode to hold his position, AUDACIOUS PURSUIT and SHARPEN BRIGHT made contact for some distance thereafter when they contested the position to the outside of FOREVER GLORIOUS.

After considering the incident the Stewards were satisfied that Apprentice E C W Wong had not intentionally attempted to shift to the outside of FOREVER GLORIOUS and the contact was due to the racing manners of AUDACIOUS PURSUIT.

Near the 500 Metres shifted out and made contact with CHARITY TOGETHER.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SHARPEN BRIGHT (H276) B Avdulla Between the 950 Metres and the 850 Metres made contact with AUDACIOUS PURSUIT on a number of occasions as SHARPEN BRIGHT was ridden to hold its position to prevent AUDACIOUS PURSUIT from shifting out.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Badel stated that his instructions were to settle the horse where comfortable.

He said after being hampered on jumping when ACE shifted out his mount settled further back in the field than what he had anticipated.

Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions issued and said that as the horse raced keenly at its last start with visors on he removed visors from the horse's gear and had instructed Jockey Badel not to make use of the horse in the early stages so that it would settle better.
