Racing Incident Report
Race Ten : (443) - TVB MISS HONG KONG PAGEANT HANDICAP - Class 3R - 1600Meters
Horse No 1 GLITTERING LEGEND (L109) H Bowman H Bowman explained that when positioned to the outside of CHILL EASY approaching the 1300 Metres he was commencing to steady his mount to obtain cover behind CHILL EASY.
He said when CHILL EASY was taken out GLITTERING LEGEND was hampered when crowded between ENDUED and CHILL EASY.
Horse No 2 SHANWAH (L123) B Avdulla On jumping struck the heels of A TIME FOR US and blundered badly when A TIME FOR US shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider Y L Chung.
Near the 1300 Metres was steadied to avoid LUCKY CANDY when that runner shifted in.
Horse No 3 LUCKY SAM GOR (K114) J Orman Near the 500 Metres improved into a narrow run between LEGEND WINNER and NATURAL NUMBERS and as a result made contact with NATURAL NUMBERS.
Between the 450 Metres and the 250 Metres was badly held up for clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 NATURAL NUMBERS (L166) M F Poon Bumped near the 500 Metres.
Horse No 5 MIGHTY MASTS (L153) Z Purton Jumped only fairly and then was bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 6 CHILL EASY (L148) C Y Ho Approaching the 1300 Metres was steadied when crowded by NATURAL NUMBERS (M F Poon) when that runner shifted out after being crossed by WITHOUT COMPARE.
M F Poon was advised to exercise more care.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 ENTHUSIUM (L107) A Badel Jumped only fairly, shifted out and bumped SHANWAH.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
After obtaining clear running leaving the 300 Metres ENTHUSIUM was again held up for clear running when disappointed for a run between CHILL EASY and NATURAL NUMBERS and as a result was shifted to the inside of NATURAL NUMBERS near the 100 Metres to secure clear running.
Horse No 8 STORMY GROVE (K478) H Bentley Near the 1300 Metres was checked to avoid LUCKY CANDY when that runner gave ground quickly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 ENDUED (K033) A Atzeni Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 11 WITHOUT COMPARE (L151) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that when his mount jumped well it was able to go forward and lead the event, particularly with the early stages being run outside of standard time.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 LUCKY CANDY (L041) K C Leung Jumped only fairly, shifted out and made contact with MIGHTY MASTS.
When questioned K C Leung stated that with the hood being removed for today's race he had been requested to ride the horse quietly in the early stages to attempt to have it settle.
He said after being positioned behind MIGHTY MASTS in the early stages he endeavoured to restrain his mount but when the pace was being run outside of standard time in the early stages, LUCKY CANDY commenced to race fiercely, got its head up and as a result shifted out when being checked.
He added LUCKY CANDY continued to race fiercely throughout the early stages and refused to settle.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The racing manners of LUCKY CANDY were considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, LUCKY CANDY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial.
Horse No 13 A TIME FOR US (K475) Y L Chung Shifted in abruptly on jumping, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
Y L Chung reported that his mount hung in when placed under pressure in the Home Straight and gave ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 DANICA'S CHOICE (L096) K Teetan Leaving the 1500 Metres was hampered when taken wider by LUCKY CANDY which shifted out abruptly.
K Teetan reported that his mount raced greenly throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No CHINA WIN (K395) M L Yeung Withdrawn on 13.2.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (irregular heart rhythm) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter STORMY GROVE.
Before being allowed to race again, CHINA WIN will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

4 February 2026 Happy Valley Racemeeting Race 7 (411) WITH A SMILE - Confirmed to be displaying an irregular heart rhythm after the pre-race veterinary examination.
WITH A SMILE will now be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and, as previously advised, be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.

Stormy Grove came from last and widest out 400m out ridden for luck from gate 14 to overhaul Without Compare in the concluding stages for a first win from six local starts. He had been knocking on the door. Punted late Without Compare did slip away by three lengths near the 200m after a tactics change to lead from gate six. He's a winner waiting to happen after making a good impression in his three local starts. Endued stayed on well for third after a wide trip without cover travelling better than midfield from gate 10. He's run very well from wide draws. Lucky Sam Gor made a mild bid near the inside after getting held up for a run until the 200m following a rails run from midfield. Natural Numbers ran on well for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. He proved a shock third last start was not a fluke. Mighty Masts just plodded when asked for an effort after settling effectively one-out, one-back. The step up to 1,600m failed to help.
