Recap by phillip woo

Sovereign Fund travelled one off better than midfield and quickened nicely to take control near the 100m for a third track and trip success at start 19. The stable change and return to the Valley worked the oracle. Sports Legend stayed on well for second after a speed-tracking run from gate six. He was able to build on a fifth last start after a win in December. Mighty Commander stuck on well for third after a box-seat run. It was another honest performance following a win two runs ago. Bienvenue made good ground late for fourth after making his run three from the rear from gate 10. It was a good effort at his first run back after a nosebleed in November. Storming Dragon got going late down the outside to just miss fourth after biding his time two from the rear. It was a typical effort. Wings Of War ran on without threatening near the inside after a patient ride second last from gate 11. Amazing Kid gradually faded after a prominent run wide and without cover the entire trip. Favourite Tourbillon Golfer was stopping 100m out to beat only three gallopers after leading from gate one
