Flow Water Flow travelled one off behind midfield and kept on nicely through the centre to just get the better of Karma in the dying stages for a second straight win and three seconds from five starts. Karma came from last and with three wider out at the 400m to just miss. The move to rider Dylan Browne McMonagle nearly worked the oracle. Favourite Dazzling Fit found a couple too good after a one-out, one-back run. It was a good effort at his first start over 1,800m. The Auspicious stayed on for fourth after only gaining cover one off travelling third 800m out. It was another honest performance. Specked late Packing Fighter ran on steadily along the inside for fifth after a rails run from midfield. He's given a decent sight both times over 1,800m from three local runs. Well-backed late Pope Cody ran on late down the outside to finish next best after biding his time second last from gate 13.

Horse No 1 STUNNING PEACH (J301) H Bowman Passing the 900 Metres shifted out when over-racing, forcing SUPREME MASTERMIND wide.

Horse No 2 KARMA (G392) D B McMonagle Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 DAZZLING FIT (K298) Z Purton Jumped awkwardly.

Horse No 5 AERODYNAMICS (K564) L Ferraris Approaching the 200 Metres was held up for clear running, was checked and shifted out to avoid the heels of SMART AVENUE.

AERODYNAMICS continued to have difficulty obtaining clear running before being checked again over the concluding stages after failing to obtain a run between SMART AVENUE and THE AUSPICIOUS.

Horse No 6 EXCELLENCE VALUE (K093) A Badel Trainer W Y So advised that the horse would be ridden more quietly today as compared to its last start.

Horse No 7 MONEY CATCHER (G171) K C Leung K C Leung reported that it was not his intention to lead but was left with no alternative in the early stages when the pace was slow and to avoid racing wide and without cover.

Horse No 8 FORTUNE BOY (K098) B Avdulla Failed to obtain clear running in the Home Straight and subsequently was unable to be fully tested to the line.

Horse No 9 SMART AVENUE (K474) K Teetan SMART AVENUE, which was racing very wide, commenced a forward move after passing the 900 Metres to gain a position outside the leader after passing the 700 Metres to avoid covering excessive ground.

Horse No 10 VIOLET STAR (L149) C Y Ho Hung out rounding the Home Turn.

When questioned C Y Ho explained that the overall performance, in his opinion, was due to his mount being obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and was disadvantaged by the slow early pace.

He further explained that from the 1000 Metres he was reluctant to go forward and take up a position outside the lead when SMART AVENUE had commenced a similar move and felt that it would be detrimental to his mount's chances even more if he had done so.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 THE AUSPICIOUS (K004) M Guyon M Guyon reported that he elected to take up a more forward position given the slow pace in the early and middle stages and with the light weight.

Horse No 12 PACKING FIGHTER (L112) L Hewitson Slow to begin.

When questioned L Hewitson stated that whilst he had an uninterrupted run in the Home Straight he was hesitant to take a run to the inside of MONEY CATCHER approaching the 200 Metres until he was satisfied there was clear running to do so.

Horse No 13 FLOW WATER FLOW (K562) A Atzeni Over-raced in the middle stages.

From the 400 Metres was held up for clear running until approaching the 200 Metres.

Horse No 14 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) M L Yeung Passing the 900 Metres was bumped and shifted out by STUNNING PEACH which was over-racing, resulting in SUPREME MASTERMIND racing very wide and without cover.

Trainer D A Hayes was fined the sum of $5,000 for breaching the Track Work Regulations as a result of MY MARS (L301) wearing the incorrect saddle cloth number during Conghua track work on Sunday, 8 February 2026.

MY MARS worked on the Small All Weather Track wearing saddle cloth number L130, the allocated saddle cloth for SUPREME FEELING.

SUPREME FEELING only conducted track work in the trotting ring wearing its correct saddle cloth number.
