Race Five : (409) - YIK YAM HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 AESTHETICISM (H289) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 700 Metres was bumped by CALIFORNIA MOXIE which shifted out and as a result was steadied to avoid GLORIOUS JOURNEY.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 WIN EASE (K384) M L Yeung Bumped on jumping.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CALIFORNIA MOXIE (J131) H Bowman Kicked a rail whilst proceeding to the starting gates, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Jumped awkwardly, shifted out, made contact with WIN EASE and lost ground.
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 700 Metres shifted to the outside of WIN EASE and made contact with AESTHETICISM.
Horse No 4 FORZA TORO (K355) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly.
Near the 600 Metres shifted out and made contact with SURE JOYFUL.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 GLORIOUS JOURNEY (J137) C Y Ho From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 150 Metres shifted to the outside of SURE JOYFUL to obtain clear running and made slight contact with TURIN WARRIOR.

Bumped near the 600 Metres.

Near the 1300 Metres, when racing ungenerously, shifted in and away from ICONICAL and made contact with SURE JOYFUL.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 INCANTO STAR (K343) J Orman Bumped on jumping.
Near the 1300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by RAINBOW WARRIOR which shifted out when racing ungenerously.
J Orman stated that his mount was disadvantaged when he was obliged to make a wide run from the 500 Metres and after being taken wider making the Home Turn it made contact with RAINBOW WARRIOR and did not finish the race off thereafter.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 VIVACIOUS WIN (K223) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly.
After improving to the inside of STORMI near the 200 Metres then commenced to lay out and proved reluctant to improve to the inside of STORMI for some distance thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.

Punted late Stormi was perfectly rated in front from gate three to make it back-topback wins despite carrying 4lb more. The addition of cheek pieces has turned his career around. Vivacious Win couldn't quite reel in the winner after a rails run from better than midfield. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in back-to-back runs behind Stormi. Firming favourite Forza Toro only whacked on one paced over the last 100m after getting a perfect trip in the box seat from gate one. It was a decent effort at his first start over the Valley 1,650m. Glorious Journey made good ground late with two wider out for fourth after making his run third last from gate 10. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,650m. Win Ease was doing some nice work late for fifth after biding his time fourth last from gate nine. It was an improved effort at his first start over the Valley 1,650m following a downgrade. Turin Warrior peaked on his run 150m out following a rails run from behind midfield. California Moxie only beat a handful after making his run second last following a slow start.
