Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (393) - SOUTHORN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 TRIUMPHANT MORE (J489) H Bowman H Bowman was found guilty of a breach of Rule 100(2) in that he failed to ride TRIUMPHANT MORE, 7th placegetter, out to the end of the race to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
For this breach of the Rule, H Bowman was fined the sum of $10,000.
Horse No 3 MIGHTY COMMANDER (J360) E C W Wong Raced ungenerously in the early stages when being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier.
In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 750 Metres was steadied to avoid SUPER JOY N FUN.
Lay in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 4 SUPER JOY N FUN (J164) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between GREATER BAE and YOUNG ARROW.
Over the final 200 Metres was held up when disappointed for clear running to the inside of SPICY GOLD.
Horse No 5 STORMING DRAGON (J237) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 150 Metres was shifted to the outside of EVERSTAR to continue into clear running.
Horse No 6 YOUNG ARROW (J401) M Guyon Shifted in at the start, made contact with EVERSTAR and became unbalanced.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event and raced keenly in the middle stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 REFUSETOBEENGLISH (K362) A Atzeni Jumped only fairly.
Over the final 150 Metres lay in and away from MIGHTY COMMANDER and as a result its rider A Atzeni had difficultly fully testing his mount when positioned close to GREATER BAE.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 BUNDLE OF CHARM (G213) H Bentley H Bentley could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 EVERSTAR (K264) Y L Chung Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 10 GREATER BAE (L033) Z Purton Near the 1100 Metres was hampered when taken wider by YOUNG ARROW which shifted out.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 MY DAY MY WAY (J519) M F Poon M F Poon reported that throughout the event his mount was reluctant to race in amongst other horses.
He said in the Home Straight MY DAY MY WAY was reluctant to proceed into a run between SPICY GOLD and BUNDLE OF CHARM between the 200 Metres and the 100 Metres.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out to the finish when racing tight to the inside of BUNDLE OF CHARM.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GENERAL:
1.
After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good" to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.
As a consequence of this, the official results will show Race 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"

Whip Rule Offences - 25 January 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting The following jockeys were found to be in breach of Rule 100(3)(ii)(a) for using the whip on consecutive occasions:- Race 2 (375) C Y Ho (INVICTUS DRAGON) - 3 consecutive strides passing the 200 Metres - Severe Reprimand Race 3 (376) C Y Ho (KARMA) - 2 consecutive strides near the 300 Metres - Severe Reprimand Race 9 (382) C Y Ho (INVINCIBLE SHIELD) - 2 consecutive strides near the 200 Metres - Severe Reprimand

25 January 2026 Sha Tin Racemeeting Race 4 (377) D Probert (ELEGANT LIFE) was warned in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height inside the 100 Metres K Teetan (ISLAND BUDDY) was reprimanded in relation to using his whip in a manner where the hand holding the whip was above shoulder height inside the 100 Metres

Greater Bae settled one off behind midfield and finished brilliantly though the centre to win going away 30m out. The riding change to Zac Purton worked the oracle after two unlucky runs to start his local career. Refusetobeenglish rallied nicely to just overhaul Tourbillon Golfer for second after biding his time third last from gate 10. He's a winner waiting to happen. Tourbillon Golfer grudgingly gave way to finish third after finding the front from gate nine. He has done very little wrong in each of his four Valley 1,200m runs. Mighty Commander ran on nicely down the outside from the back from gate eight to just miss a placing a It was another honest effort. Storming Dragon was doing his best work late for fifth after settling second last from gate 12. He rarely produces a bad run. Ever Star kept on one paced after a wide trip from better than midfield. Triumphant More weakened after sitting third in the run with cover from gate 11. Spicy Gold disappointed after getting all favours travelling fourth on the fence. My Day My Way didn't figure without a clear run at times in the straight drive from midfield.
