Race Seven : (391) - SOUTHORN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 GRACIOUS EXPRESS (J188) E C W Wong Approaching the 250 Metres was shifted in towards WINGS OF WAR and was steadied.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 2 WINGS OF WAR (H162) B Avdulla In the middle stages raced keenly.
Horse No 3 ROMANTIC SON (J537) D B McMonagle Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 SYMBOL OF STRENGTH (K352) L Ferraris Shifted in at the start, was bumped and became unbalanced.
Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 5 LUCKY PLANET (H235) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 PERFECT GENERAL (J417) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly.
Horse No 7 DOUBLE MONEY (K512) H T Mo Shifted in on jumping, made contact with GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY and became unbalanced.
From a wide barrier was then shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 ANOTHER ZONDA (K176) M Guyon Shifted out on jumping and was bumped.
Over the concluding stages could not be ridden out when held up behind LUCKY PLANET.
Horse No 9 BEAUTY GLORY (E459) Y L Chung When caught wide in the early stages was shifted across behind runners where it obtained cover near the 900 Metres.
Horse No 10 GAZELEY (K253) L Hewitson Jumped only fairly and then was crowded between ANOTHER ZONDA and SYMBOL OF STRENGTH, both of which shifted ground.
Raced keenly in the early stages and approaching the first turn was steadied to avoid WINGS OF WAR.
Horse No 11 GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY (K002) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly and then was bumped by DOUBLE MONEY which shifted in.
Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied to avoid GRACIOUS EXPRESS when that runner shifted out and away from WINGS OF WAR.
Near the 50 Metres M L Yeung dropped his whip.
M L Yeung reported that his mount, which was having its first race start at Happy Valley, was uncomfortable racing on the track.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Horse No 12 SPIRIT OF PEACE (K007) A Atzeni Near the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of SYMBOL OF STRENGTH to continue into clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) H Bentley Withdrawn on 27.1.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter ANOTHER ZONDA.
Before being allowed to race again, PRESTIGE ALWAYS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Romantic Son enjoyed the gun run from gate one before reeling in long-time leader Lucky Planet for a third Valley 1,200m win and second this season from 18 local starts. Luckly Planet wouldn't go down without a fight after starting quickly from gate 10. He was able to hold his own after an easy win last start in Class Four. Early favourite Perfect General stayed on nicely for third after rushing forward three wide early on to chase the leader from gate six. It was a solid run carrying 5lb more following a win. Symbol of Strength kept battling away for fourth after a prominent run one off the fence. He's stuck around for minor cheques in four of his past five starts over the Valley 1,200m. Favourite Spirit Of Peace wove a run late near the inside for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's gone all right in his past two starts with a step back to the Valley 1,200m. Thumped late in betting, Another Zonda just held his ground after a rails run from better than midfield. He's a borderline Class Three horse. Well-backed Gracious Express was a non-factor after a difficult run travelling midfield from gate 11.
