Racing Incident Report
Race Two : (386) - FLEMING HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 LUCKY BLESSING (K073) M F Poon M F Poon stated that the intention was to lead the event.
He said after jumping only fairly and then being bumped heavily by DOUBLE SHOW which shifted in LUCKY BLESSING settled further back than intended.
Horse No 2 TELECOM POWER (J332) M Guyon Held up for clear running on the Home Turn.
Horse No 3 TSUEN WAN GLORY (E403) M Chadwick Between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.
Horse No 4 THUNDER BLINK (J019) Z Purton Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Near the 700 Metres shifted out and made contact with FAMILY FORTUNE when being steadied to avoid HARRY'S HERO.
Noted to have bled from both nostrils after the race.
Before being allowed to race again, THUNDER BLINK will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) L Ferraris Approaching the 700 Metres THUNDER BLINK improved into a three wide position behind HARRY'S HERO.
A short distance later THUNDER BLINK then shifted out when being steadied to avoid HARRY'S HERO and made contact with FAMILY FORTUNE, resulting in FAMILY FORTUNE being taken wider.
Horse No 6 SOARING BRONCO (J162) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 7 SOMETHING JONAH (K024) J Orman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 8 DOUBLE SHOW (G250) L Hewitson Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
Over the final 150 Metres could not be ridden out when positioned behind TSUEN WAN GLORY.
L Hewitson stated that along the Back Straight when HARRY'S HERO commenced a forward move this resulted in DOUBLE SHOW being placed in restricted room between a number of runners around him.
He said as a result DOUBLE SHOW came under pressure from that point and did not finish the race off thereafter in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 HARRY'S HERO (H332) A Badel From the 900 Metres commenced a forward move and raced wide and without cover thereafter.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 STRONGEST BOY (H027) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Passing the 1500 Metres STRONGEST BOY improved to the inside of FAMILY FORTUNE as that runner was being shifted in.
As a consequence STRONGEST BOY was steadied to avoid FAMILY FORTUNE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Favourite Thunder Blink settled midfield and pulled out three wide at the 700m before getting up 50m out for a third win and first since his Griffin days from 16 starts. The stable change worked the oracle after showing improvement in back-to-back Valley 1,650m runs. Harry's Hero found one just too good after taking off from behind midfield 850m out. He was able to back up a near win last start at Sha Tin. Telecom Power stayed on nicely along the inside to finish a close third after a rails run from better than midfield. It was a good effort. Wah May Wai Wai wouldn't go down without a fight after clearing to lead from gate eight. He should get away with a race shortly. Plunged late in betting, Family Fortune made headway late near the outside for fifth after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. Punted late Strongest Boy came from near the rear to finish next best. Lucky Blessing dipped at the start and made only a mild bid after straightening one off travelling behind midfield. He's at his best when allowed to bowl along in front. Tsuen Wan Glory was held up for a good part of the straight after a box-seat run.
