Race Five : (378) - SOUND PRINT HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 MONARCH COUNTY (J421) E C W Wong From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Horse No 3 GALLANT EPOCH (J451) M Guyon Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 HOLMES A COURT (J511) B Avdulla A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 TURIN CHAMPIONS (L024) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Bumped near the 200 Metres on a number of occasions.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 JOLLY BRILLIANT (K498) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 800 Metres SUPER DRAGON shifted to the outside of DERRYNBLUE to establish a tight run between DERRYNBLUE and JOLLY BRILLIANT.
Approaching the 600 Metres SUPER DRAGON then commenced to race keenly and shifted out and away from DERRYNBLUE, resulting in JOLLY BRILLIANT having to be checked when crowded between TURIN CHAMPIONS which maintained a tight line to the outside of JOLLY BRILLIANT and SUPER DRAGON which shifted out.
J McDonald, rider of SUPER DRAGON, was advised to exercise more care.
However, the Stewards found that the racing manners of SUPER DRAGON had contributed to the interference.
Horse No 7 SUPER DRAGON (K389) J McDonald Jumped only fairly.
Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 DERRYNBLUE (K539) D B McMonagle A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 TOP PEAK (H441) K Teetan K Teetan stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event and as a result was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

Horse No 10 LOVEISINTHEAIR (J550) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly.
Near the 450 Metres was steadied when crowded between TURIN CHAMPIONS and FIGHT TIME (A Badel) which shifted out to improve.
A Badel was severely reprimanded.
Horse No 12 GOLDEN LUCK (H159) K C Leung Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
Near the 800 Metres was checked to avoid GALLANT EPOCH (M Guyon) which shifted in when not clear.
M Guyon was reprimanded.
In assessing the incident the Stewards took into account the racing manners of GOLDEN LUCK which contributed to the interference.
Between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 14 FIGHT TIME (H409) A Badel Between the 350 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running when unable to improve between MONARCH COUNTY and TURIN CHAMPIONS.
In this incident FIGHT TIME made contact with TURIN CHAMPIONS on a number of occasions near the 200 Metres.

Turin Champions had a wide trip second last from gate 14 and quickened nicely with two wider out to win going away 30m out for a first success at his fourth start. He deserved that after seconds in back-to-back runs and there's more to come from the three-year-old. Gallant Epoch stayed on nicely for second after covering ground early on before settling in the one-one spot. It was another fine effort carrying 6lb more. Lucky McQueen found a couple just too good after leading 100m out following a box-seat run. He handled a rise in trip without a hitch and should breakthrough shortly on the back of three placings from his past four starts. Fight Time finished well for fourth getting held up and hampered 250m out after a one-off trip from behind midfield. He was able to back up an improved fourth last start. Jolly Brilliant came from last and widest out for fifth. He was able to back up a luckless eighth at his second start.
