Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (370) - PO SHEK WU HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 VERMILION TEMPEST (L093) E C W Wong Shortly after the start became unbalanced when crowded between SPECIAL HEDGE which shifted out and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER which lay in despite the efforts of its rider.
Horse No 3 DOUBLE WIN (H382) D B McMonagle Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 4 GOOD GOOD (J224) B Avdulla Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 FOREVER FOLKS (G463) Z Purton Raced wide and without cover from the 800 Metres.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 SERANGOON (H296) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 8 SPECIAL HEDGE (H354) L Hewitson Shortly after the start became unbalanced when it shifted out and made contact with VERMILION TEMPEST.
Horse No 9 VIVA TASTE (K415) M F Poon Raced wide and without cover until near the 800 Metres.
Horse No 10 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) M Guyon Bumped on jumping.
M Guyon reported that his instructions were to ensure that he led tonight's race.
He said after racing in the lead YODA'S CHOICE was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 FIREFOOT (J183) R Kingscote When questioned R Kingscote stated that near the 600 Metres he elected to shift to a one-off position to follow GOOD GOOD.
He said as he did so FIREFOOT commenced to race keenly and as a result he was obliged to take hold to avoid the heels of GOOD GOOD which resulted in FIREFOOT shifting out and making contact with HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER.
He added when he was satisfied there was then sufficient room to improve between GOOD GOOD and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER he then placed his mount under pressure to obtain that position.
After considering his explanation the Stewards advised Jockey Kingscote to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Horse No 12 STAR BROSE (J463) A Atzeni Jumped awkwardly and made contact with YODA'S CHOICE.
When being steadied to allow VIVA TASTE to cross leaving the 1600 Metres commenced to race keenly and got its head up when being steadied to avoid that runner.
STAR BROSE continued to race keenly throughout the early and middle stages.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 13 HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER (J002) M Chadwick Lay in shortly after the start and was bumped.
Near the 550 Metres was hampered when taken wider by FIREFOOT when that runner improved into a run where there was doubtful room between GOOD GOOD and HAPPYDEARHAPPYDEER.
M Chadwick reported that after being bumped and taken wider near the 550 Metres his mount was unable to finish the race off thereafter and gave ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 FOREMOST TEDDY (J058) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Second favourite Forever Folks took off from behind midfield 700m out to take the lead 300m out and kept up a strong gallop for a fifth win from 43 starts. He lived up to a pleasing fourth on a leader's track last start over the dirt 1,650m. Good Good just held on for second after moving to the lead 350m out in a speed-tracking role from gate 13. It was a return to form at his initial start on dirt. Punted late Firefoot just failed to get up for second after a rails run from better than midfield. Like the latter, he had no issue with a switch in surface. Viva Taste ran on well for fourth without threatening the top three after a four-wide trip from behind midfield. He's run well in both outings over the dirt 1,800m. Glorious Success ran on late through the centre to snatch fifth after making his run five back on the fence from gate one. He's yet to win in Hong Kong but rarely produces a bad run across either surface. Special Hedge plugged on evenly after a oneoff trip from midfield. Favourite Foremost Teddy failed to lift when popped the question after a box-seat run. He couldn't build on back-to-back front-running wins in Class Five.
