Recap by phillip woo
Punted late New Forest got an easy time in front and was too smart for a fourth win on dirt and third this season from 14 starts. He appreciated the light weight despite a rise in class. Gorgeous Win stayed on nicely for second after a one-out, one-back run at his initial start over the dirt 1,650m. He has been able to take his game to a new level following a switch to dirt racing. Favourite Talents Ambition ran on nicely near the inside for third after making his run at the back in the small field of six. He wasn't suited by the pace. Sword Point stayed on next best settling in the box seat and copping a check 1,500m out. The big weight took its toll despite a return to the surface of two wins from two starts last term. Soleil Fighter was on his tippy toes 100m out after rushing forward to track the winner 1,350m out. He's a better runner on turf. Capital Delight never landed a blow after making his run one from the rear. He's yet to put his best foot forward in four starts after winning twice last season.
