Race Nine : (362) - FENCING 1400M HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 JUNEAU PRIDE (J443) B Avdulla Bumped on jumping.
Lay in over the concluding stages when racing tight to the inside of EMBLAZON.
Horse No 3 FLAMING RABBIT (H257) J Orman A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 TOURBILLON PRINCE (H122) R Kingscote Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 5 MIGHTY MASTS (L153) A Atzeni Near the 800 Metres was steadied away from CHILL EASY.
Bumped near the 350 Metres.
A Atzeni stated that the instructions were to hold a midfield position with cover.
He said in order to obtain cover he was obliged to ride MIGHTY MASTS in a conservative manner in the early stages and as a result settled slightly further back than intended.
Horse No 6 CHILL EASY (L148) M F Poon Raced keenly in the middle stages and approaching the 800 Metres was steadied away from EMBLAZON.
Approaching the 350 Metres made contact with MIGHTY MASTS when being shifted out to obtain clear running.
Horse No 7 SUPERB KID (H298) K C Leung Slow to begin.
Horse No 8 EMBLAZON (K122) C L Chau Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 ONE MORE (K261) L Hewitson L Hewitson stated that he was asked to go forward and lead but connections had requested him to remain racing away from the rail as they felt it was advantageous to race in this position.
Trainer M Newnham confirmed the instructions issued.
Horse No 10 FLASH CURRENT (J500) M L Yeung Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 REAL GENTLEMAN (K534) M Chadwick M Chadwick reported that from the inside barrier he was asked to hold an on-pace position.
He said when REAL GENTLEMAN commenced reasonably well he was able to comply with those instructions.
Horse No 13 FORZA TORO (K355) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A Badel stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages and to ensure it was given clear running to the outside in the Home Straight.
Assistant Trainer C K Chung, representing Trainer C Fownes, confirmed the instructions issued.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 STELLAR SWIFT (J139) H Bentley Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race.

Favourite Emblazon settled one off behind midfield and quickened nicely through the centre to just pip Flash Current for a third win and second from four starts this term. Flash Current did everything right but get the win after taking the short route home to lead 50m out following a patient ride second last. He was able to build on a fourth last start over 1,200m. Juneau Pride was close away in third after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He's naturally come to hand from his four starts this term. Punted late Outgate kept on well for fourth after working forward three deep to track the leader One More from gate 11. He's run well in all three 1,400m starts this term but does need to draw a gate. One More succumbed late after clearing to lead from gate eight. He's given a decent sight in his past two and could shortly steal a race.
